Pill guns are the best!
I use this pill gun every night with my cat. I had bought one from a nearby petstore that was universal for both cats and dogs and was very cheap looking... even though it was the same price or more (I can't remember the exact price) This one works very well because it has a rubber tip to it, that way I am able to put both weirdly shaped pills in it and it expands to the size of the pills....and its small enough to fit into the back of my cats mouth. I was so fed up with shoving my finger down my cats mouth for so many years when I saw my vet just use this pill gun I had to buy it that same day! Its so easy and less stressful on the animal. I have has this one for about 2 years now and it still works like new!

It's not okay. At all. Really.
This pill gun was the best price and had no additional shipping charge. Arrived quite quickly. Works pretty well, except the plunger keeps coming out of the top. I still like my old pill pusher better, so we use this as a backup.UPDATE: 😠12/15I have continued to use this as my backup. I use the old pusher every day. Recently, I could not locate the daily pusher device, so I went to my back up (this product). I now discover the rubberish like part which is supposed to retain the pill, has split on the bottom, and can no longer contain the pill. I suppose if I duct taped it, and spilt the tape vertically, it may possibly work. But why? I only used it a few times! Absolute garbage. That is what this device is, is garbage.

Not as pictured
The pillers I received were a hideous red rather than the lovely blue in the picture. I really don't understand why sellers can't update their pix when they change what they're selling. But the thing functions perfectly and saves my fingers as I cram antibiotics down my vicious dog's throat, so I should just get over how ugly they are.

Excellent Piller for Small Animals
We have 10 cats and 2 German Shepherds. I have a couple of the larger bullet pillers, but they are very hard to use on cats, especially kittens. I was looking for something long, and slim enough to quickly pill the cats. The piller is excellent; it's made for smaller animals, like cats. I prefer to give pills over liquid medication to our cats, but cats can be very hard to medicate. Cats are as quick as lightning and since they don't have longer muzzles, like most dogs, it's hard to hold their upper jaw open to get the pill down. You need something long and quick, especially since we have a couple of cats that would give Tasmanian Devils a run for their money. The piller is long, which allows me to keep my hand well away from those sharp teeth; it's thin, so it doesn't scare my guys or make them choke like the Bullet Pill Gun. I have very small hands, and I have an easier time using this piller than the bullet.Since our guys were street urchins, they suffer from viruses that cause chronic upper respiratory infections. At all times, there is at least one animal on antibiotics; right now I have 3 cats on antibiotics, two are small kittens that we found on the street. The piller is thin and long; as a result I'm able to easily pill the tiny 5 week old kitten without sending him into a panic. My older cat, who I've always had trouble pilling, almost sleeps through getting his pill. For those of you with small hands, hold the unit so that the piller crosses your palm, with the pill end pointing toward your wrist. Place your index finger on the plunger, and hold the piller with your thumb and other fingers. Quickly open your pet's mouth and put the pill at their throat and gently, but quickly depress the plunger with your index finger. It dispenses the pills so quick and accurately, that there is minimal reaction from the pet. When I first gave a pill to the tiny kitten with the Bullet, he panicked and gagged; with this piller he takes his pills easily, with no trauma.I like it so much, I'm ordering a couple more to keep on hand.

Pill gun bigger than I thought
I was unable to find a smaller pill gun in stores, so I resorted to checking online. When I looked at this online, it seemed smaller and thought it would work perfect for the 1/2 pill I need to give my cat bid. It turned out to be bigger than what I thought and I have to position the pill just right or it falls out of the tip. I have managed to make it work and has been much easier to give my cat her pill without getting my fingers bit! I can see this was made for a whole pill, not 1/2 pill.

An Invaluable Finger Saver!
This is a "must have" for anyone with pets, especially cats!A real finger saver, this is invaluable for giving pills to dogs or cats with the least amount of stress to either the human or pet! The soft rubber end allows you to quickly shove the pill far to the back of the throat, where hopefully it will be swallowed instead of turning into a projectile that ends up on the floor (my dog is a master of that), without hurting their throat. It is long enough that it could easily be used on nearly any size dog.I was given one by my vet about 16 years ago. The rubber end finally got so old and worn out that it would not hold small pills tightly, so I finally decided to treat myself to a new one. I kept it as a spare, the idea of not being able to find this when I need to give a pill... well, that is sure to immediately launch me into a panic! So do yourself and your pet a favor. No more traumatic struggles to get a pill down, no more trying to hide pills into an assortment of goodies, hoping that one will go down so fast that they won't realize there is a pill, only to later find the pill neatly spit out onto the floor. Get yourself one of these pill guns and they will have the pill down before they know it!
