I’ve had a couple of sets in this price range.. this one has the best looking board. Though others has pieces I preferred slightly. It comes with a velvet bag that the whole set slides into which is a real covenience

I purchased this set to spend some time with my elderly client, who requested I teach her to play chess!After we've enjoyed a little time I will give the set to my chess master son, who will happily assume ownership!

The chess board I recieved is really well made. First time getting a relatively good chess board and I am happy with my purchase. I work on a ship and having things rock back and forward and knocking the peices of chess is a no no and having magnetic pieces is a plus for me. Sadly 2 peices has a weak magnet as shown on my photos when i did the product image test. Also some of the peices had residue from the glue but nothing negative. The black peices was really nice and didn't have the issues some of the buyers were saying.Other then that I give this chess board a 4 star! Really good!

Some of the felt bottoms came off but it is expected at that price. The felt bottoms were also fairly thin but not a bad set. And I love that the table doesn't clear one bumped

The case and chess board is well made with real wood and gross paint finish. Good workmanship but has some little defects here and there. Especially inside of the box. The hinges are average quality not premium, but it works well. The chess board can not lay 100% flat, it pops up a bit in the centre but it maybe because it is new. It does not affect play at all. Now it comes to the chessman itself, those are really average quality. The white finishing is better than the dark ones. The dark ones has missing spots on painting and makes it rough and showing the wood itself. It could be a much better polishing and painting job on those chessmen. The closure of the box is nice. It seals the box very well and secures inside. Biggest concern: No velvet bags or fake leather boxes anything to protect the chessboard. If not using with care, it will be very easy to scratch it. Actual size is 14”X 13.75”when fully open. Another thing is the velvet bottom patch on each chessmen is thin and flimsy. But overall it is the best I can find with the price on Amazon. A very good gift for kids.I say it is very good buy if you are not picky.

This chess set was made of good quality and nicely packed. The pieces are well protected inside the case and it comes with a protective bag to store and carry the wooden case.
