GoTouch Basic 3.0 Turn Any Screen to an Interactive Digital Whiteboard

The media could not be loaded.  I watched videos on youtube of the GoTouch being used and thought that it would be the perfect little device for the classes that I travel around to teach. I have used Mimio and Smart Board devices before and I know that they aren't perfect but the GoTouch took quite a while to setup and get working at all and then I couldn't get it to work consistently. I wouldn't even try to teach with it. The frustration would just be too much. So here is my experience.I received the first GoTouch and it was a lemon. It wouldn't even charge. I used the cable that came with it and tried different chargers but no dice. I tried resetting it and even changing the modes as instructed in the online manuals. I was able to connect it with the wire one time and tried out the pen which only activated half the time when the tip was pushed. The IR light in it wouldn't always turned on. So I sent it back and received another one. I wasn't going to give up on it yet. It seemed like a promising idea and I really wanted to make it work.I received the second one and it charged right and the pen worked every time. I was stoked. I was able to make the bluetooth connection to the GoTouch very easily. That part worked well. I set up the GoTouch and calibrated by screen which was also pretty easy. I tried connecting to my TV via Chromecast and my Roku but there was a half to full second lag when using the pen. This isn't necessarily the GoTouch's fault. So I connected my laptop directly to the TV with a HDMI cable and it helped with the lag. I thought I had it all figured out. But the pen was constantly off on my TV screen. No matter how I moved the GoTouch and set it up time after time the pen would be close to where it needed to be but not right on. I couldn't circle something because it would circle the item next to it for example. Also, often times when I lifted the pen and moved to a different area the GoTouch would connect the lines between where I lifted the pen and set it down next. Sometime it would skip while writing. There was no consistency and it was very frustrating.I gave the GoTouch two legit chances and was very disappointed.

I bought this interactive whiteboard because I wanted a more affordable option to try out. I work in a smaller private school and was looking for different ways to get my students more involved in math class. I am very happy with my find! I set it up in my classroom and connected it to the Apple TV through screen mirroring. I didn’t know it would be so easy to make notes with the pen and save them! I like this option much better than the regular whiteboard because it saves time and allows the students to connect their devices through bluetooth and collaborate. I would recommend this product to anyone who is willing to put in a little extra time and money to improve the classroom experience.

I am a teacher and just got back to school to hook the device up. After everything was setup, I went to calibrate the pen and sensor on my screen. A group of us spent hours trying to get the "blue dot" on the sensor to match up to the grey dot, as the instructions told us to do. When we got the blue dot in the center and went to tap the four corners, the GoTouch sensor would not read anything on the right side of the screen. We tried moving the sensor several times and angling it many different ways and ran into the same problem each time. Nothing on the right side of the screen would be read by the sensor. We tried to draw on the "touch-screen", and since it never calibrated, the tracking was over a foot off from where we drew and was several seconds delayed. In addition, we had to constantly reset and restart the sensor because everything would freeze on the screen and not move.This device is not user-friendly whatsoever and is not effective.

This is a great product and had some issues synching with Bluetooth but after that it works really well. For the money you can’t beat it. My only comment to the maker is that it would be good to get the “toolbar” in the very front of where you write without having to click into menus. Just seems logical to put the toolbar upfront. Otherwise a great product.

I homeschool my kids so I'm always looking for fun ways to integrate different types of learning. With this pen device i can keep my kids attention while teaching then and also hand it to them to try out. Would recommend

I did some research on whiteboard products with different technologies and came across goTouch! I decided to buy it because I loved the size. It is so easy to just place in your bag and bring it to work since it is small and light. My favorite feature is the one that allows you to share screens with other people. When I work from home I simply share the screen with my colleagues and we are able to collaborate on our projects while not being in the same room.So far so good!

Can’t speak highly enough about the CUSTOMER SERVICE!I own a behavior therapy clinic for children with autism- we use this as a smart board a few times a day 5 days/week. Monday we could not get the pen to work so I called the number;l, they asked me to email a video and this morning they informed me that the pen was damaged and offered a free replacement because they love how often we use the product. We bought this 5 months ago and they sent us a free replacement. I am impressed with the customer service, how quickly they responded, and how awesome the product works. We have a projector mounted to the wall, a laptop and this pen set up so we can do ABCmouse on the projected image, stop videos and talk about them, have dance parties and so much more. We are a small company and I was dreading investing thousands into a smart board knowing that we needed it. Smart boards are in all the classrooms and our clients need help waiting for turns, using the pen gently, handing off the pen to peers, accepting no access, and so many more skills.This is one of the best investments I’ve EVER made:)
