easy to read, accurate & passed the test
We had a few different thermometers and though they looked similar to the Davespa unit their glass tube seemed to detach from the backing making them useless. This unit is easier to read and the tube seems firmly attached, we have two, one for the pool and one for the adjoining hot tub. Tested both for accuracy with our etechcity laser thermometer The hot tub unit gets bounced around a lot but still remains intact. The big test will be when the grandkids visit. Odd, with plenty of pool toys the kids played with thermometers too, both units still working perfectly! ππΌππΌ

Works as expected, sturdy, easy to read.
The thermometer is as expected. It is easy to read. Seems sturdy. When first put in floated on side but turned it upside down underwater so water could enter the bottom and it floated vertically as expected. Used it at the Y pool and showed the same temperature as they had measured.

Great little floating pool thermometer for the price!
This thermometer works great in the pool as long as you manually make sure the outer tube fills with water when you put it in the pool. Once filled it floats correctly and does a great job of monitoring the water temperature. I would buy it again!

Works Well
I have had the product for about a month now and it seems to work well. Its a standard thermometer that floats. It comes with a string you can tie to your ladder or whatever. I guess it is accurate(have no way of telling for sure) but it does read hotter when its hotter and cooler when its cooler. My only complaints are that it tends to want to float on its side a bit, so its not sticking straight down into the water and it can be difficult to read when picking it straight up from the water sometimes but its fine if you wipe it off to dry it.

Low quality string on Thermometer
The string used to tie the Thermometer to a fixed point in the pool is very low quality and did not last more than a month before falling apart. The actual Thermometer seems to be just fine though.

Works great!
I use this product for my pool. So far, it has been accurate and easy to read. Sometimes the water bubbles get in the way, but I just wait a little and they dissipate. It has been a helpful addition during this very hot summer. Haven't turned on my heater once!

Doesn't seem accurate
UPDATE 7/15/20: At the 11-month mark (2nd swim season), the glass tube dislocated from the degree chart rendering it useless. And the plastic face fell off. This was AFTER I replaced the string because it rotted away to dust after a few months. And it still never floated vertically as it was supposed to. So VERY unimpressed. Decreasing rating from 3 stars to 1 star.βββThe numbers on our old pool thermometer were fading, making it difficult to read. I dropped this new one in beside the old one and a bit shocked when it shot up 3-4 degrees in reading above the old one.As a test, I took it out and put it inside the house next to a digital thermometer on our bar. After a couple of hours to acclimate, I checked and found they were fairly close, but the Davespa was still a degree higher at around 75 degrees indoors.I left both the old and new thermometers in the pool for a couple of weeks. The Davespa consistently read 3-4 degrees higher. This is also 4 degrees higher than our pool equipment's inline sensor. One other quibble is that it doesn't sink to vertical when you drop it back in the pool--it floats on its side on top of the water in the sun. It has a small hole near the top to vent air and sink to vertical, but it never works without physically shoving it under and shaking the air out. Minor, I know, but that's exactly what this thing is designed to do, and it doesn't do that most basic function. So now I've got an almost 11 buck item of questionable accuracy that won't sink to vertical like it's supposed to.
