Needed brackets to hold the wood shelves I made
They're simple, modest, and elegant. Perfect for minimalistic rooms – as my own. They're not bulky and that's what I loved about them. It's why I ordered them. I built my own customized douglas fir wooden book shelves and needed brackets to hold it up. Needless to say, they get the job done. I bought two sets of the 8 inch for the 2x10, which was cut to 6 feet. And I bought two sets of the 6 inch for the 2x8 which was cut to 5 feet. You can see for yourselves how perfectly they work for floating bookshelves. I'm satisfied with the look! However – there are a few downsides. The corners of the brackets arrived dented with unfinished black paint finish. The majority of them arrived like that. Secondly, they aren't all consistently welded. In other words, the craftsmanship isn't identical to the other. And lastly, most importantly, the drywall anchors are absolutely terrible. So terrible, I heard them fall on the ground after they went through the wall. I had to visit a local home improvement store to purchase quality drywall anchors. Truly, I should be reimbursed for the anchors I had to buy. These brackets are incredibly expensive and it is absolutely ridiculous for the manufacturers to include cheap and useless anchors. I mean, common. After I drilled the anchors I bought from the store, it worked much better, and now I know the shelves are safe and sturdy resting on the brackets.

A slightly different use ...
So, I needed these brackets for a completely different and unusual reason. We have a back deck that is about 15’ off the ground. This deck is surrounded by Wisteria that grows around the frame of the deck. It’s gorgeous. But because of the Wisteria, we don’t want to put railings up. We can’t really have both so we keep the Wisteria. The problem is though that we have 3 small dogs that we were always worried would fall through the Wisteria and off the deck. So consequently we haven’t used the deck much in the past few years. With COVID this year, we decided to do something about this problem so we could use the deck more. After a bunch of thought, we settled on buying a plastic garden boarder fence that is 15” tall. We cut the stakes off the bottom of the fence and put it up around the deck. It ended up being a great solution. Only problem was it was a bit unstable and tip forward. We didn’t want to put a bunch of holes in the deck and we trying to think of another way to stabilize it more but we coming up blank. As I started to research solutions on line, I came up with the idea of using plumbing pipes and flanges as “legs” and zip tying the fence to them. That thought led me to these shelf brackets. These are a great quality, the seller shipped promptly and took great care to make sure the product didn’t get damaged during shipping. When they arrived, I still wasn’t sure how I was gonna make my idea work. What we ended up doing was mounting one of these brackets at every joint, staggering them every other joint in the front and the back. Couldn’t be happier with the result and now we get to have more outdoor space that is safe to use without the worry of one of our little guys getting hurt. Perfect solution.

Wrong screws for brackets!!
I ordered 8 “Industrial AddGrace Black Floating Shelf Brackets Retro Wall Mounted Shelf Supports Includes Screws & Wall Anchors (Square) 6 Inch.” The brackets are good quality, but the screws are wrong for this application, and the anchors are too small for the screws that were sent. Since the holes in the base of the brackets are not countersunk the screws do not seat all the way. The screws should have been pan head screws. It appears that the maker does not know this. It’s a shame for a customer to get all the tools out that are necessary and remove all the appliances and containers from the countertop beneath the shelves only to find out the screws are the wrong kind for a professional quality job.

Perfect for shallow shelves! Easy to install.
The item came exactly as described. We used it for the shallow wooden shelves in our bathroom, and it worked perfectly. It was easy to install. I would definitely recommend!

Simple base
I was searching for simple brackets for small bedside ledges in a guest room. I used raw edge wood that was not perfectly square or flat. These were great because they were stable enough to use one each on this size shelf. The four screws going on to the wall part, you need to be careful and level it! Do your best work first before making a mistake

More measurements and notes...
I used 1/4" drill for the mollies, which was a tight whack with the hammer. 5/16" might indeed be better, but I didn't have that drill size. Even so, I wound up with 1 "spinner" where the plastic molly spun in the hole and wouldn't grab. The bracket holes are 1 3/4" apart, so you're not going to get all 4 into a 2x4 wall stud -- as others have said, put 2 vertically into a stud for extra strength if convenient, and use mollies for the other 2. Mollies seem strong enough for light duty though -- maybe 50 lbs?I used these to hang a 10 1/4 deep shelf over my desk. The shelf was a leftover piece from an IKEA bookshelf.Came with extra hardware. Long screws go in the mollies (or stud), short through the rail into the underside of the shelf.Note that one side of the rail seems to have a slight indent for the head of the shelf screw, so you want to put that side down. The under-shelf hold down screw extends 1/2" from the top the rail, so your shelf needs to be thicker than that. The wall bracket is not machined to receive the tapered screw head, so the heads sit proud of the bracket, which is funky. As another reviewer noted, if you want your shelf back flush on the wall, you'll have to notch out the shelf. My shelf is out about 7mm from the wall.So yeah, looks ok, works ok, but only 4 stars for the lack of instructions, lack of bracket screw head taper, and fiddly mollies.

Love the look but not the product
I love the look of these shelf supports; however, it was hard to install them. The included hardware broke when I screwed the supports into the wall. Had to purchase additional hardware. The supports are also not a consistent size and the holes were misaligned causing the supports to be mounted slightly off and now my shelf is not level. I am disappointed but its too late to take the whole shelf down and start again having to repair the wall. I would not purchase this brand again.

Brilliant Product
Bought these to hold a sky box next to a wall mounted TV, they are very well made and super easy to put up.They could easily hold 10 times the weight of a sky box.

Good quality brackets
Sturdy, well-manufactured brackets. Perfect to support a shelf of heavy books. I painted them with the same colour emulsion paint as the wall and they look amazing!
