If you can't afford the bigger lens for your kit this is the best answer.
Watch your stops and remember this is not a lens so it dose not act like one. If you can't afford the bigger lens for your kit this is the best answer. If you don't have the necessary skills to shoot manual lenses go back to your iPhone and leave the big boy toys to the big boys. 5 Stars did exactly the job it is meant for.

Very cool effect ...
I was using it on a 105mm F1.4 Nikkor ... because it's the ONLY extender that will work with it ... well along with their 2X. The 2X actually works well ... AF and Sharps ... but the 1.4X is Great for the massive Spherical Aberrations that it produces ... see the wonderful GLOW ... until one stops down a couple of stops ... see the Normal added Image. So I kept it just for that cool Glow that one gets using it wide open with that lens. I'm sure it will work normally on longer telephotos.

Focus ability
With a 2x the auto focus does not work well. Not the case with this 1.4. I use it my 150x600 Nd focus works the all range.

Decent quality teleconverter with auto focus issues
Does the job but is very slow on autofocus and does not focus correctly most of the times. Manual focus is a must hence it cannot be used for photographing moving objects. It increases your f-stop number so either increase exposure time or find good lighting.

Works great with my D600 and auto focus 70-300mm Lens
This is a replacement purchase as the first one simply did not work (faulty continuity of the contacts when I checked with a meter). This one is fine but mentally I wonder if it will fail sometime.Photographically it does what it is designed for. Besides an increase in focal length, close focus is about 40percent closer which is very useful to me.
