Greatest licorice
This is by far my most favorite licorice because it is soft, great taste, easy to chew and swallow.

Seriously? 8 bags for $4 and change? Nice...
I have to be honest here. I was buying some items off a Amazon gift card and didn't want to leave it w/ less than $5, so I decided to get a small treat (i.e., candy). I was only expecting A bag, so imagine my surprise when a box of 8 showed up!As for the product itself....I need to be honest here as well and mention I never had soft Australian licorice, just Twizzlers (and Vines, don't know if that counts). When I first opened the box (smell is amazing) it felt hard, however it was very cold outside so I gave it some time and it did soften up. Thing is, how do I judge it's softness and taste since I have nothing to compare it to? I'll take up the negative points in other comments. Is it hard as a rock? Not even close. I easily bend or twist a piece in half, tho I can't squeeze it flat between my fingers like a marshmallow. It is softer than Twizzler bites and Nibs if that helps. I have no problem with the texture at all (but again, I am not comparing to anything). Is it flavorless like some are saying? IMO it has TOO MUCH flavor lol. I love sweet but this is a bit too sweet, even for me. The first few secs. it's perfect but once you bite it you get an explosion of strawberry sweetness...which may be a good thing for some people (taste is so subjective)...for me, too overwhelming. For reference, I can eat a 1lb bag of Twizzler nibs or bites in one sitting. What? I'm only said I could, not saying I did (hehe I did).I wish I could be of better help. For less than $5 (what I paid) it was worth it, it certainly wasn't unedible. If I gift half the bags and eat a piece or two once in a while, imo, it will be well worth it. They need to make it w/ less sugar (not just no sugar), the amount in one piece and/or one serving is insane!

Not as reliably good as before company made changes
I ordered this once before in Nov. '14, and was thrilled with this liquorice. I just received my 2nd order a few days ago and am very disappointed! Like other reviewers, mine sticks together in a stubborn lump and is sticky to the touch. It doesn't have as deep and rich a flavor as before AND I may be wrong but it doesn't look as black; more of a dark brown. My main complaint is that it is so soft that I can't actually chew it. It just sticks to my teeth and then flattens out in my mouth, sticking to the roof where I then just let it dissolve on its own. This is very different than before where it had more of a soft gumdrop texture which was perfect..I notice that some other reviewers think it's changed as well (and not in a good way).I've written the company to ask if it's changed in the last year, and will update this review with their response once I hear back. Until then, I remain puzzled because it's not a subtle difference.UPDATE: I contacted the company and w/re to changes, they said: "There was no change in the recipe but the process was slightly modified to make a better eating product over the whole shelf life as it was getting hard towards the end."They also asked me for the production codes on the batch I had, and sent a few replacement bags. The replacements are good! Just as I remembered. So the batch I reviewed above is definitely defective. (See photos.) I gave them that feedback and they assured me they are "closely looking into this matter".So ... Given it's defective, I'm doing an exchange with Amazon. Will update again when I get the replacement batch. Fingers crossed!FINAL UPDATE: (I updated once already but edited review has not shown up. Arg. So this will be shorter.) I received my replacement from Amazon and its quality is somewhere between the defective and the good that the company had sent me. My conclusion is that the quality is not as good as it used to be before the company made changes. I also don't know that I can rely on getting a good batch if/when I order again. Upgrading from 3 to 4 stars because this is better than the defective batch, but not as good as it used to be. (Hope this edit makes it in!)

For Mango "Licorice" it's Good
Not really a fan of flavored sticks labeled as "Licorice" these are soft, chewy and flavorful. I am impressed with the Darrell Lea brand!

Delicious
Soft, not sticky, and tasty. Also, no palm oil used and that a plus for anyone interested in helping save orangutans and their habitat.

Deliciously soft licorice, almost always.
Oops, looks like someone fell asleep at the wheel. Check your dates, the best before date on this bag is 24 August 2022, yes the year 2022 (today is 19 Feb. 2024) so I'm not reviewing that bag. But I have had this brand of licorice many times both strawberry and black and they are absolutely delicious and very soft. Good on ya mates!

Great taste
The mango flavour is excellent, good value packets. It was good to find a supplier that has the Mango floavoured liquorice. One problem is that they taste so good, its easy to get too many !!!!
