A Concise History of Germany (Cambridge Concise Histories) Paperback – 31 Dec. 2018

With such a complex and complicated history, I think that this book does an excellent job of allowing a person with a somewhat limited knowledge of German history to get a basic foothold on how Germany came to be what it is today.

Good for studies

I bought this because I am learning German and wanted to understand a bit more about the history of Germany. The book did not disappoint. It's frustratingly brief in places but that doesn't matter because you can always look up details once you know an event existed. It can be a little hard going in places but in general it reads well.

Just what it says it does. Good level of detail for a concise volume.
