Religion at Work in a Neolithic Society: Vital Matters

Çatalhöyük is ...
A mystery, which gives only a few clues to us about itself. Ian Hodder, et. al. have, in this book, given us their own interpretations of how the buildings reflect Neolithic religion as seen through their excavations and study of this ancient site, and done so brilliantly. I would recommend this work to anyone and everyone who wants an instructive and intelligently written account. I loved this, every page, and give it the highest of ratings. It’s wonder-full!

Broad Coverage
Many views represented here. Disputes as to what religion is. Views of the self. The interrelations of these things and architecture, burial practices, production, and outside factors. The level is high and often a bit abstract. Those of us who need this book will read it twice to get everything out of it. Worth it.

Agreat read for students of Archaeology and Religion
Once more a great study book from Ian Hodder and the multi-disciplinary team at Chatalhouk . It bring out some very interesting insights to the origins of religion.
