Quiet and powerful
The shredder is super quiet, believe me you probably will not find more silent shredder. I test 15 sheets and it ate without problems, I didn't try more. I had full bag of papers which need to be destroyed... I used this shredder for an hour before red light came up "overheated". It took around 10min. to cool down and shredder was ready to go again. I use this shredder at home, so there is no any heavy work for it, I have probably 10-20 sheets of paper per week, however maximum load 15 sheets gives you piece of mind that this shredder will never jam. Easily takes unopened junk mails, even with fake credit cards inside, however it is not recommended to shred envelopes with glue on it, in the long run the glue might stick to rollers. This rule apply to all shredders anyway.Micro-cut is really micro, it gives you extra piece of mind. This shredder cost a little more than average shredders but it is definitely worth the money. It is better to spend one time more $$$ and get a real, heavy duty machine problems less.So far I didn't find any Cons. and at the end I can shortly say: super quiet, micro cut is really micro, no jams so far... all what you need from good working paper shredder.Highly recommended product.

Solid Workhorse
I've had this shredder for about two weeks now, and the only negative about it is its size -- I didn't pay much attention to the dimensions before ordering, and the shredder barely fits under my desk where it replaced an old, worn-out shredder from another manufacturer. The Comet came well-packaged in a retail box inside a larger shipping box. Once unpacked, it was ready to go with no assembly required, the only thing that had to be done was to plug it in. For some reason the shredder also has a clock display on the LCD, but setting it is optional. As everyone else has already stated, the shredder is incredibly quiet and smooth, it just steadily chews through the materials you feed it. The shredding speed is a bit slow if you have a big pile of papers saved up which need shredding, but it is a non-issue in day-to-day use. The shredded paper is very fine and packs nicely inside the large collection bin.

Sweet Shredding!
This shredder is awesome! I did a lot of research and nothing else in this price point can even compare. I was originally going to get the model below this one but I am glad I stuck to the 15 page model. It's really quiet and can really micro shred 15 pages of paper. I tried more but it just backed out my stack of papers and let me pull a few out of the stack so it would shred properly. I have not tried to shred cds or credit cards yet but I am sure it will handle those with ease. This machine is definitely heavy duty and lives up to its specs. Also, the basket is huge and take a while to fill up because of the micro paper inside. Nothing at the other brick and mortar stores even compares to this awesome shredder. The only thing I regret is that I did not find this shredder sooner. If you are on fence just go for it - you will not be disappointed.

Best shredded I've ever owned
I've been looking for a good replacement for the loud but effective desktop shredder I used to have. (It literally exploded one day trying to shred a checkbook.) I bought two other shredders that are okay, but one's a strip shredder (not very secure) and the other only accepts a few sheets at a time, overheats quickly, and it's loud.Enter the Comet. This thing is quieter than my dishwasher (I have a Bosch, which is very quiet) and it shredded two large grocery bags of accumulated paperwork in about an hour and never overheated. Now I have a few cubic feet of confetti to recycle or use as packing material instead of a closet full of old paperwork. This was an excellent investment, worth every penny. Time to donate the other two (barely used) shredders. Oh, a nice bonus: They include shredder oil, so I can just put some on the last sheet and the cutters are lubed and ready for their next job.

Nothing like paying for new and receiving used or refurbished
Delivery was timely and with perfect intact packaging and seals, however, upon inspection the waste bin had a screw with a broken plastic nub attached. Peering around with a flashlight I discovered it was one of two that attach a metal support structure adjacent to the waste bin and appeared to have no other damage but cleary had small bits of paper, plastic, etc.. suggestive of at least trial use. The oil bottle was sealed. The directions make no mention of the other information that appears on the screen upon powering on aside from READY, but a XX:XX appears too. Mine was over 10:59, or I thought prehaps it was a run down clock or use time in minutes and seconds...it was use time in HOURS:MINUTES!I've sent an email to the supplier, so we I will comment again once I have some resolution. On the plus side I did run it and it seemed capable and quiet.

BREAKING NEWS: SHREDDER SHREDS ITSELF!
ADDENDUMTHE company, COMET, did contact me and the result (thus far) is that for $30 (a restocking fee as the shredder was more than 30 days into its warranty) plus shipping, I return the shredder and upon receipt of the defective shredder they will send me a replacement (I don't think they said, "new").If there was a null star, I would check that. But let me begin at the beginning.Everything good about this shredder has been said.In my case the Comet destroyed itself last month. In fact, it appears I was shipped a machine which was defective. I arrived at that conclusion because the plastic piece which fell from the interior of machine had glue on it.Draw your own conclusion from the fact that a corporation allowed defective equipment to be sold.

It does shred very quietly and will do 15 pages at a time which is what I wanted but I was disappointed in how the door opens an
Cheap made. Had damage from shipment or getting out of box. It is very heavy. I had to glue some plastic pieces back on that were broken off to get it to work. It does shred very quietly and will do 15 pages at a time which is what I wanted but I was disappointed in how the door opens and the overall quality.
