Best stand light--4.5 stars
First, let me start off by saying that this is the BEST stand light available for purchase today. However, it is expensive and the power supply is LOUD.Pros:* Very bright, and not too harsh on the eyes* Pretty consistent across the page* Ample space for folders* Fairly portable* Looks good* Designer is a friend of my Mom :DCons: (Due to the price range, I feel these really should have been fixed before this was released)* Power supply makes a lot of high-pitched hissing and screeching noise only when turned off.I can hear it across the room. I requested a new one, and it still makes noise.* On/Off switch is the turn/click kind. It should be press and click for longevity and nicer design.* Scratches theĀ Peak SMS-32 Flat Panel Desk Music Stand , but only a bit.The lamp is rather expensive, but worth it if bought on sale online. All in all, I'm happy.A note should be made that the first unit I received was defective, and one of the LEDs burned out within a week. However, the replacement has been working fine so far (a few months).UPDATE: Still works fine after a year!

This is perfect!
Originally bought the more expensive Aria Diva, but returned it because 1) it was actually TOO bright, and 2) I didn't want to spend the extra $25 for the dimmer accessory. So I sent it back and went with the Aria Solo. It's perfect for my needs. The brightness is just right. Lights up my entire Manhasset music stand, even if I have three pages up rather than two. Also I did not experience the humming in the power cord as some people did. Wonderful!

Not as bright as more expensive Aria models but well made and beautiful.
The build quality is excellent, these are built for professional use, but if you're considering an Aria, I would advise the more expensive models. The Solo provides adequate light but not great light. The more expensive models are much brighter. As for the Aria design, there are advantages and disadvantages vs. others (like the Mighty Brite style with flexible base).Big advantage -- the Aria contains light in the enclosure, so it's great in a pit. And you don't have the problem of your stand light getting in the eyes of a player sitting across from you.Big disadvantage -- the Aria attaches to a stand and is not tall enough to accommodate oversized music. If you have an oversized score (say a rental part) that is taller than the back of your stand, you won't be able to use an Aria light because you can't turn pages. So my advice, if you're a professional and want to commit the funds, is this:1) Get an Aria model, pay for the brightness you need, and get one with battery and plug-in potential because you never know what will be provided in the pit.2) Also get a Mighty Brite orchestra light -- get the kind that takes AAs because then you can always carry extra batteries with you (rechargeabe AAs are the way to go). That way you're covered if you're handed 14-inch tall parts.

Excellent
Excellent, no more wobbly bug antennas. It has a two inch clearance above the top of the stand. My power supply is silent. Light is best if the sheet music isn't stacked too deep. I use the lamp for practice and I am not a professional musician. The more I use it the better I like the overall lighting and I have ordered a dimmer.

nice addition to the music stand.
Very nice addition to the music stand. I can see the music better because of my current room not lit properly so it was previously hard to see the notes on my music sheet. The material used for the lamp camouflages nicely with the music stand when installed properly. My horn teacher will be very impressed with the result the day he comes to teach me with my private lesson.

Best Light I have used.
I am a professional musician. I have experienced a variety of stand lights on the national musical shows that I have played. This is clearly the best stand light that I have used. It is beter than using two of the conventional 40 watt stand lights. The only hint of a negative with this light is that on a complete blackout in the pit, it takes about 1 second longer for it to come back on. I would never use anything else from now on.
