I purchased the AKIELO Alpha back in 2019, and it’s served me very well over the years. While the leather around the metal pop-up card holder has worn at the edges, the wallet as a whole remained in fairly good condition. Unfortunately, the stitching on the edge of the larger pocket eventually came undone, which meant I could no longer use it to carry the occasional bill. prompting me to look for a replacement.Despite the many new options now available, I chose to stick with AKIELO. It did its job reliably: held all the cards I needed, plus a bill or a few coins, and fit comfortably in my front pocket. What originally drew me to it in 2019 was the metal pop-up card holder. I used to carry a traditional wallet in my back pocket, and sitting on it often bent and cracked my bank cards, sometimes making them unusable at ATMs. Since switching to this compact style, I can’t imagine going back.While I do wish the wallet had lasted more than six years—especially since the pop-up mechanism still worked perfectly; I can confidently recommend it. My new one feels just as well-designed, and I’m hoping it holds up just as long.For reference, I typically carry 7 cards in the metal holder. If you're using embossed cards, you may only be able to fit 5 or 6 comfortably, so that's worth noting.Lastly, something to keep in mind: the leather is now vegan, as another reviewer mentioned. My car seats from 2017 are also made with vegan leather, and they’ve aged well, so I’m optimistic this new version will hold up similarly.

The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: Not had the option to test for RFID protection but it looks and feels great. A few minor scuffs/scratches after being in the same pocket as some keys, but they're barely noticeable. The little "rivets" on the rear are beginning to lose some colour after a while but it's not a huge deal to me. I'd still recommend this product.-Just received this item today, so I'll update after a few weeks of use, considering the pandemic in which I'm not out as much as I used to be.TLDR: Looks and feels premium. Can fit up to 7 cards, but not recommended. Cards won't fall out. Really secure and durable. Looks fab too. 10/10 recommend.Carefully and securely packaged which is a 👍🏻 in my book.Not only does the item look and feel premium, the unboxing experience makes you feel like you're receiving something special thanks to the minimal black and gold aesthetic, and I absolutely love that.Upon opening the box, you're immediately thanked and welcomed into the "AKIELO Family" which makes you feel part of a community. That personal touch is just spot on.Placing the card aside, the wallet looks impeccable. The black and white accents really make it stand out without it shouting about it. It's so much better than I imagined (see pictures). I used your standard IMPEGA pencil tip to compare how thin it is since I'm sure we have all used a pencil at some point in our lives. This cuts the size of my old wallet (that I threw away, no pictures unfortunately) in half, maybe more.I can fit 7 cards in this (2 embossed bank cards and 5 flat membership cards), but the mechanism had a lot of resistance when using it, so I don't recommend using that many unless they're completely flat. I think I'll stick to using 5 cards instead (2 bank, 3 memberships) because they are likely what I'd carry around most. Its all personal preference.The cards inside feel safe and secure, I couldn't get any of them to fall it which is absolutely fabulous. I know that's something myself and others were worried about. The wallet is super lightweight even with cards inside.You can definitely keep one card in this (though, I'm not sure why you'd want to) and it will not fall out. I forgot to include this in my video but it's definitely possible.The wallet fits really nicely in my pockets and it's not much larger than your standard bank card, so it should fit in most pockets comfortably.So far, I love this product. It makes me want to go out and buy things I can't afford 🤣

Color: Tan leather alpha collectionI had gone through a lot of wallets before I finalized this one but using it gave me a better perspective. Hence sharing my thoughts here:Pros:1. This was the most compact design compared to others in the class. The internal card carrying box is of the exact size as that of the cards so no space is wasted.2. My intent was to carry just 4 cards and a space for receipts like day pass while traveling but this could carry up to 10 cards.3. There are 2 external compartments: one is external which is wide mouthed on the back which has a curve and the other is tighter and has smaller opening that would be ideal for coins and the curve here provides ease of access in the tiny slot.4. The push button is easy to use and pushes the cards out in a staggered manner.Cons:1. The Leather is velvety which means the aging would show with the loss of fur on the leather surface and would be easy to scratch.2. Cleaning: we can only rub down with a damp cloth so if we spill something then washing it could damage the product.3. The leather stitching on the three sides of the wallet extends 0.5 cm beyond the internal box which does increase the overall size of the wallet. Wish it was tailored fit to the box.4. My purpose was just to hold 4 cards: 2 Credit cards, 1 debt card and 1 driver’s license. So this was definitely too big for my purpose.5. The external card or receipt slot has a curve which I feel wont secure the item as well as a straight cut. On the other hand, the second pocket for coins is great but since its cut out from the front, there is a color difference which I didn’t find very pleasing when taking the wallet out in front of others.6. I even wish the push button had a click sound to it when poping the cards or when pushing them in.7. The push button is at the bottom instead of the sides which might require one to flip the wallet depending on the hand they are holding the wallet or depending upon which side the wallet is facing.Packaging:The product had multiple layers of packing like the wallet was wrapped in butter paper, which was placed in side a cotton pouch, which was placed inside a hard board fitting box and finally the box was placed in a neat transparent plastic sheet. The packaging does provide a premium feel to it. It does enhance the experience of unboxing the wallet.

A year on and it still looks new. Works well, robust and secure.
