Works as described.
I purchased this pad to replace a Pachmayr pad I installed forty-five years ago. It was installed to replace a factory plastic butt plate. The new pad was very close to the size of my shot gun. With the use of a small belt sander, I shaved to new pad to fit perfectly on my gun. We'll see if this one lasts forty-five years! The pad reduces the felt recoil produced by four to six rounds of skeet.

It worked
I put it on and it worked just fine. I didn’t do so great a job at shaving it down to fit. It was an ugly instillation but I’m well know for my ugly work. It works and that’s what I needed.

My First Grind To Fit
This was my first try at "grind to fit" installation on my '80's trap shotgun. Videos & articles say to use a bench mounted disc or belt sander which I don't have so I clamped my handheld belt sander in a bench vise and it worked great. To finish flush with stock I used my oscillating multi-tool (available cheap at Harbor Freight) with sander attachment. Used 80 grit on both. Be very careful if installing on a finished stock and use masking tape to protect stock. Work slowly, keeping a good grip on the stock or you'll wind up scratching the finish. Take care cutting slits with razor knife for screws and use dish soap to lubricate screws & driver blade so the slits disappear after installation. Make sure you order the correct size pad to have enough overhang on the bottom to follow the toe line of the stock for a nice factory finished look.

Replace the screws
The provided screws were far too long, hard to turn, and the heads weren't well made. I replaced with shorter wood screws and it attached perfectly. These pads are easy to cut with belt sander, or files and sanding block, to flush fit to the stock. You can also use a layer of cyanoacrylate glue underneath to seal all gaps and improve the fit, and clamp with bar clamps and a shim for a few minutes. Finish sand down to 320 grit, or use a buffing wheel, and you have a perfect fit.The pad buffers run the entire way through, so grinding off material doesn't cause any inner layers to show. Well worth the money.

Get the right size..
The key is to get the right size so you dont have to do to much fitting .In my case it was right on. very small amount fitting and sanding. But great product

Low quality screws
I've been using Pachmayr products for decades. I've installed many recoil pads. The pad is superior. Replace the screws even though Pachmayr insists you do not. The philips head screws are low quality and strip very easily. I replaced them with square drive screws of the same dimensions.

Calidad
La calidad indiscutible. Ponía talla única pero en el estuche era una talla médium, por lo que he tenido que lijar bastante ( mi refle es un balser R93).
