Great board to build confidence.
This board is ideal for your first waves, learning to surf, and practicing with different types of waves. Being 7' long, it's perfect because you can practice walking on the board and playing without fear of getting hit since it's very soft and lightweight, making it very easy to transport and store anywhere. The design is unique, retro, sublime, and elegant, and the color combination is perfect. Everyone has a Wavestorm, but this design, at least here in Uruguay, makes it more identifiable and recognizable. Everyone is fascinated with the colors and the wood-like deck; some people have even mistaken it for a fiberglass board.I would definitely buy it again without hesitation. This brand guarantees quality. I've had a Thurso Waterwalker SUP 10.2 for over 5 years, and it still looks brand new, with flawless colors just like the first day.Highly recommended brand and products.

Charlie don’t surf. Maybe he should try this ride
Packaged well, no damage in delivery. Have not hit the beach with it yet. Purchased as gift for my daughter who wants to give it go. Seems like it will be a great beginner board. Looked for a used board that might be worth the price with no luck. Figured I would give this a shot. If it survives the summer it will be money well spent. Shockaaaa.

Excellent beginner/fun board
I learned on a 10' long board which is great if you have a slow, gentle break but trying to teach my kids in shorebreak with a massive board was an exercise in frustration (endless nosedives, tough to paddle/swing the board around). This board strikes a very good balance--wide/buoyant enough to be pretty stable for the kids but not so big/heavy to be unwieldy in the surf. Also sturdy enough for me to catch a few waves even though I'm pushing the weight limit a bit. Will update this RE: durabililty once we've had it a while but overall the workmanship seems quite good, the board was shrink wrapped and double boxed which was nice to see.My only minor complaint was the setup with the fin screws could have been better documented, two of the screws are longer and it took be a bit to figure out where they needed to go: the two longer ones go on the top (closer to the nose) of each of the thruster (side) fins. Since the board is a bit thicker in those locations they need the extra depth--the short ones go everywhere else. All in all, I'm psyched!

Not made well.
This board is fine if your adhd has you hyperfixated on surfing and you are going to do it twice then put it away forever and never look at it again. If you plan to just take it on vacation once. But if you are serious about learning to surf this board is not made well and is not going to last anytime in real ocean and waves. It’s very lightweight and cute. But think of it as a toy to play with. Not an actual tool to surf with. Took it out of the box. Put it together. Immediately took it apart and put it back in the box to return it. Too much money when I can find a decent used board for the same price that is going to last for years.

Look no further this board is for you !
If you are searching for a inexpensive great board this is it. Don't waste your time with the wave storm. The three stringers give this board strength and stability, it doesn't buckle like a taco, like some other foamies. This also makes it very stable when standing.I was concerned with the float of the board. I am 5' 8" and 170 lbs. This board paddles like a champ. The second time I used the board I ran it in the sand and apparently I had not torqued the plastic bolt enough and lost the bolt. I emailed the company and they sent me a full new fin set. I only needed a bolt. How's that for excellent customer service. This is a great buy for experienced surfers and beginners alike.Kudos to thurso.

Great beginner board for my 9 year old!
Great, lightweight board. It was shipped and arrived quickly in perfect condition which was much better than another similar board from another company which arrived damaged & needed to be returned. After just 1 weekend, the color strips are fading on the back part of the board but the integrity is solid. Pretty happy with the board and overjoyed to see my kiddo paddle out and catch some waves on his own power!

Not best for beginners
It says for beginners in the description, but actually my instructor told me it's not for me as a very beginning beginner:( so I have to leave this one on the side and find another one. This board looks nice and feels comfortable, but it is narrow and thinner than a foam beginner board.

Better than a Wavestorm, great for the money
I can’t wait to take this thing out on the water. Quality wise it is similar and slightly better than a Costco wavestorm. It looks nicer and is 1’ shorter as well. Great board for the money and I imagine given the buoyancy it will catch loads of waves. I would recommend it to beginners, people who want a cheaper board that will do the trick, and people who don’t want to worry about dinging a more expensive board. I am skeptical about how much stress the leash point will take before breaking, but I don’t plan on taking it out on anything over shoulder high anyway.
