Practice Arithmetic: Level 1 (ages 7 to 9) (Competitive Mathematics for Gifted Students) 1st Edition

This is a very good series, with a variety of thoughtful and even tricky questions that challenges the mathematically gifted child. Very enjoyable indeed. Each book has 3 to 4 very short sections with corresponding practice questions and a miscellaneous practice sections at the end. All answers are thoroughly explained in the second half of the books. We have done perhaps a third of the questions in each of the books and while overall very good, some questions do have errors in them, hence four stars.

We bought the book for our 7 year old and 10 year old daughters. My younger one loved it and she completed both the books. The problems are well thought out and nicely presented to capture the attention of small kids, who love mathematics. Please note that these books are designed for gifted and talented kids.

A true math brainteaser for elementary school children, not just another book that tries to make regular math fun. It can shapen anyone's thinking skills. Excellent series written by someone who has been there, seen it and done it. This is the best I've seen so far.
