Nova 18" Fluorescent High Power Brightness Photo/Video Ring Light for Video, Photo, YouTube, Stream, Beauty

I received this ring light for Christmas and I LOVE IT! I make youtube videos and this just makes everything that much easier. I no longer have to wait for the perfect natural light from my window to film. This works well in daytime and at night as well. It's super bright but it doesn't wash out your face. I received the package in tact and carefully boxed. I also bought the Diva Ring Light Mini Desk Tripod and putting the whole thing together wasn't hard at all. I already filmed my first video with it and I seriously can't wait for more. If you're looking to make an investment but are unsure I say get this light. It took me awhile to take the plunge but this is definitely worth the price!

I was so surprised to get this in working order as I had ordered another ring light from another company and it arrived broken. This product was completely packaged to ship. With lots of care. Lots of padding. I just shot a cookbook with this light. I can't wait to start playing with portraiture with this. I love how much light it throws. I also loved that I was able to use this with an existing tripod I had for lighting. Very sturdy gooseneck. Stayed in place exactly where I put it and needed it to be.

The light itself is okay, however I found that when I combined it with my teleprompter + tablet the electromagnetic field interfered causing the tablet to be non-responsive to the scroll feature (or even a wired mouse). Without the light my tablet + teleprompter scrolls fine and works perfectly. And yes, I have made sure the tablet or any part of the teleprompter is not touching any part of the light. I can see the tablet cursor start to jump around within 5-8 inches of the light before I even put it on the holder. And again, yes I have tried insulating it with foam, rubber etc. and am absolutely sure that no part of the teleprompter is touching any part of the ring or light stand. I have also moved the teleprompter up so that it is in the middle of the ring so as far away from the edges of the ring as possible. However the tablet cursor starts to behave oddly within 5-8 inches of the light.Since I bought the light to work with may camera + teleprompter I have to say I am not satisfied with it. By itself the light with the camera works fine.

I was so excited to get this product and try it out in my videos. I waited about a week for it to show up and when it arrived I was very let down. The instructions to set up the light were not helpful and my package was missing a part. A very important part! They did not send the bar that connects the light to my tripod, therefor the light was useless to me. Once I discovered that I would already have to return the product for the missing part I was just wanting to see how the light looked and worked in general. I plugged it into the wall and nothing happened. I tried all THREE fuses that they sent and nothing worked. Therefore I do not even know how the light works. I am returning this product and ordering a new one, hopefully they get it right this time because I really want to use this product.

Bought the product for my daughter for Christmas gift. She absolutely loves it. She has it set up in her room and uses it every day. Very easy to put together and set up. Only knock was it didn't come with a stand. You need a stand or tripod. Luckily, we had a tripod for it.

So far, I've seriously used it once and it's done an ok job. The problem was in the really cheap ass ultra light weight stand in which the damned threaded part of the mount broke the hell off after my initial testing of the whole unit! WTF??? Worse still, I couldn't use another unit to mount the damned thing. I would certainly purchase another one of these ring lights, but Cowboy Studio needs to step it up and redesign the mounting for the stand.The whole unit isn't very rugged, but it's actually kind of cool and inexpensive step towards more professional ring light units!

This light buzzes really loudly.It's unfortunate because I really wanted to like this product (I even picked up some diffusion plates to go with it).This light would be great for studio photography, but it's useless for creating videos.

Works perfectly for what I am using it for. Love this because it's an easier set up then most soft boxes or other lighting. Would definitely recommend to someone who is a beginner in the lighting area of taking pictures etc. Shipping was prompt and item was as described.
