Pleasantly surprised at the quality of this kindle book.
I have not had the best of luck with some of the kindle books I have been asked to review on here, but this is defnitely an exception and I really got alot out of it. I got an exercise ball a few years back but I never really got around to using it. It's usually just been used to entertain the kids. After checking out this book, I saw that there are some easy to follow exercises that I can do with the exercise ball. After a few tries, I feel like my core has been strengthened and that's really awesome! I sometimes get too lazy to go to the gym so I find this book very helpful.. This is a must-have book for people looking for a quick exercise routine that works! Kudos to the author. Oh my gosh! The author of this book provides a short introduction at the beginning of the book about women and herself and exercise in general. She gets up front and personal about working out and if you are honest with yourself you will see yourself nodding to the words that she writes. She even provides a little comedy in her words as long as you can read in between the lines. I literally laughed out loud at one sentence. Probably because I was surprised she put that sentence in. Anyway, I downloaded this book because when I travel it is hard to bring my home gym around but most hotels have an exercise room, of which, that has an excercise ball. Because I have a smart phone and tablet these exercises can come with me. I was familiar with a few of the exercises in this book but there were plenty more to try. I put to use a few of the newer ones this morning and could feel my core engaged. This author has another book that provides exercises for a medicine ball. I would love to see her combine the two and do medicine ball exercises on the ball. Now that would be for the more advanced. I would definitely recommend this book for those really serious about getting fit. I am glad that I got a chance to download and read this book.I received this product at a discount or free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Decent exercise book
I'm an exercise beginner and I have a hard time working out without guidance. I currently can't afford a trainer and I don't like the repetition of doing the exact same workout video over and over again. This book helps me out because it provides instruction on how to manipulate these 30 different exercise ball moves into a 10, 20, or 30 min workout. I can customize it to my abilities and needs, then swap out exercise as I improve and want more of a challenge. Speaking of challenge, I would have appreciated a "challenge level" rating per each of these exercises because some are more difficult than others and some require more flexibility than others. The book is targeted at women, though other than the image of the female body on the front of the book I wouldn't have realized this had the author not addressed "ladies" several times throughout the beginning intro portion of the book. Honestly, they could have done without that specification because these exercises can benefit men too and I know I've seen men doing many of them at the gym too. I think they unnecessarily pigeon holed their audience. There are okay pictures demonstrating each exercise and fairly easy instructions on how to do each exercise move. There were a few moves that took me a couple read throughs to understand what they wanted me to do, even the couple of pictures they added didn't help me with those. Most of them were easy to understand. At the end of the book there is an exercise index categorizing each exercise into which muscle group it works. Since the author leaves it up to you to design your routine, this index can help you decide which exercises you want to do. Each exercise in this index is hyperlinked so you can easily find the instructions if you need them, although then you have to scroll all the way back to the index so that makes it a bit inconvenient. At the very end of the book is a link for you to access a workout soundtrack list. When you get to the website none of the music is available. It's several grey squares that say "Sorry, this mix is unavailable for playback." Therefore the bonus needs to be removed from this book because it's pointless.Overall I recommend this book. It's not the perfect formatting for an exercise book, but it's not the worst I've seen.I received a digital copy of this book free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
