Great AP for the price!
I have setup 2 or more of this AP per network in various sized businesses to provide reliable wifi connectivity for some years now. Some of those APs have not had to be rebooted in years, which speaks significantly to its stability in a well designed network. These work well with any POE switch or gigabit injector, so long as there is a router, firewall, or both to manage the network. For smaller networks, the internet provider's router can be used to manage the network and this AP can be added to either provide additional coverage to a dead spot or the router's wireless can be turned off and this used for all wireless services. For larger systems, a better router is recommended with more advanced features like VLANs, OpenVPN, connection bonding, and load balancing. A managed POE switch is the best way to go if you want the most from this AP. This AP works well with trunking VLANs for using multiple SSIDs. This keeps the traffic separate to protect internal servers or workstations from guests or IoT devices, while still providing internet access for guests and maintaining IoT device functionality. The configuration page on these can also be segregated onto a management only VLAN to keep it safe from anyone not connected to the management subnet. This device is a wireless access point, it does not claim to be a firewall or router. It has several features that are found in firewalls and routers, but is still only an access point. There are other APs on the market with more features, better range, or more configuration options, but not at the price point these are at. A great product at a great price

Exceeded expectations
I've been meaning to pick up a dedicated WAP for my apartment, as my old setup of two DD-WRT routers forming a wireless bridge wasn't cutting it range-wise. I read a few good reviews outside of Amazon and decided to try the ZyXEL out after seeing the price drop.I've had plenty of experience with ZyXEL firewalls but never tried any of their wireless products. My experience level is definitely higher than the average user, so I can't speak for how newbie-friendly this would be.I picked up the TP-LINK TL-PoE150S PoE injector and it works great with this AP.The Web GUI will be familiar to anyone who's used their products in the past. Basic setup of the IP address, SSID and security was pretty easy. I let the access point pick a channel automatically, since my area is pretty cluttered with APs.I installed an Intel 7260.HMWG.R card in my laptop so I could actually use the wireless ac speeds. I was able to transfer files from my hard-wired HTPC at about 10 MB/s.As for the range, I haven't even mounted the AP on my wall yet and I'm already seeing an insane improvement on the other end of my apartment (which is where I was using a router with DD-WRT as a wireless bridge). I didn't have high expectations for this but it's been great. If you have a larger house, you can surely set these up to work together and extend the range. No complaints at all so far!

Good AP, not Excellent. Very Good Throughput.
I purchased this on Amazon and has been running for about 48 hours. The throughput is very good compared to others that I have tied in the past (D-Link, Netgear, Linksys). The range is about the same. There was a newer firmware from the website so I updated it (V2.10 AAOX.0). The single SSID for both 2.4 and 5 GHz worked perfectly. I knocked out one star because the wireless range was not a big improvement. It is so-so, but the throughput is very good.I have installed it on the ceiling connected via POE. It came with drywall mounting kit and also, a power supply if you don't use POE.

Impressive!
I'm extremely impressed. I was ready to throw this thing back in the box and return it, after having nothing but problems with it. I have an old Linksys WAP we're been using for a couple years, and I was testing this out to replace it, and add a couple repeaters in our new office building. I was getting 1-3Mbps throughput from it on the down side, and 10Mbps on the up side. So confused... I came to find that having the SSID the same name for both frequencies (2.4GHz and 5GHz) was causing a problem. Once I created SSIDs for each frequency, problems disappeared, and I was seeing 100Mbps on several devices, which is exactly the speed of our internet connection. Impressive, being that the Linksys could only produce about 47Mbps, even on 5GHz N wireless. I replaced our Linksys and mirrored the SSIDs and passwords from it. Nobody has made any complaints about connectivity, which is awesome. I'm curious to see how it works once I add another as a repeater. The other beautiful thing about these is that they are PoE, so they are easily mountable in office ceiling tiles, and look very clean. I believe I'll be ordering a couple of these for my home, as we have signal issues there. I have conduit running from my basement to my attic, so I can place one on the upper floors with just one cat5 cable. No power run necessary.I wish they were a little bit cheaper, but they are still reasonably priced for what they can do, especially considering I spent $180 on my current access point at home.I only have one complaint. When setting each radio to automatically select a frequency channel, it would almost always select the most congested channel. I used its channel usage monitor tool, and it would show all the APs around, and what channels they are using. In our current building, 11, 6 and 1 are very congested. This Zyxel would rarely auto-select a channel that was least congested. It almost seems like "auto" is synonymous with "completely random".Support is the best you can get. Zyxel has great support, and it's always free.

Not a secured connection
The access point connects to the internet great. The connection is an open connection. There is no way to change the security setting to a secured connection. Cannot login to router. Wrote two emails to customer support with no reply. Not very happy.
