My son was bitten by brown recluse spider. We could tell by the red circle and 'hole' in the middle. He used this kit and in 3 days he could tell it was on the mend. Easy to use, follow directions exactly and it works. All healed in 6 days. Doctors will give you an antibiotic--that does not help from what I read in the reviews. THis works and would also work (I think) on snake, fire ants, scorpion bites etc. Very good to have next to your First Aid Kit, especially if you RV.

I am horrified by spiders, and just bought a home infested by brown recluse. I am not sure what I expected, but this contains one jar of something, and on e bottle of something else....I am assuming it is something to the effect of activated charcoal and some drops??? that are to be mixed equal parts with water. The reviews said it works, I hope I never have to find out...Fingers crossed this stuff is the magic everyone claims it is. The bottle/jar seem to be a decent size in proportion to the doses/amounts mixed and put on a bite. The expiration date is not soon, so it is something that can be preventative. Good packaging, speedy delivery, priced ok.

This was not helpful. The carbon powder could not do anything but turn to a fine, black powder, even when mixed with the liquid. Even a tightly taped bandage could not contain it. It dried out within twenty minutes and leaked out everywhere -- over clothing, on the floor, in my food. A bandage around your finger joints (back of the hand), just DOES NOT work, let me tell you. One bite, each hand.In despair, I finally took some aloe gel to mix with the liquid solution / carbon and made a heavy paste that would stick. It was better than nothing. I could not tell it did any good, but I only found this treatment when the bites were already 4 -5 days old. I'd like to know how this is supposed to work, given my experience. One star from me.... the box is now sitting in a closet. ;o(

This is a must have for everyone. The company I work for stocks these in all of their trucks and their medical rooms. This works on several sores, not just Brown Recluse. It's a little pricey, but buy one now when you don't need it, so you'll have it when you do. They key to minimizing tissue damage from a Brown Recluse, is getting it treated at the first sign of a problem. Very safe product and it consists of activated charcoal powder and a tincture made of herbs and alcohol.

Absolutely works on spider bites. Healing times are significantly reduced, and more importantly, it stops the spread of the toxin.Cons - black, stains, you have to cover about half an inch outside the bite, and yet none of that matters. It just simply works to get rid of the bites as quickly as Neosporin and Vitamin E oil ( mixed together ) work to deal with cuts and burns.I give it as gifts it works so well. It's #2 in my first aid cabinet after Aloe Vera gel.

I've been a pest control technician for 25 years I have never gotten bitten by a brown recluse except last year I got bit 4 times I was going after mice and brown recluse loves the corners so be careful. On my first bite after 2 days I was in so much pain in my hand it was swollen. I bought the kit and in a couple months I got bit three times and within 10 minutes of getting bit this product took the pain and everything away and I had no issues. A chriopractor told us that the ingredients in a Brown Recluse First Aid Kit could help her skin condition. Butour primary care provider and several pharacisrt have advised against using it for "other than intended purpose".

the active carbon is super cheap in the store, perhaps they should sell the liquid by itself?In the end I rate it a four stars because I still feel more safe having this kit on hand since I've had brown recluses in my home.Tip: If you needed active carbon before you received your kit, If you have a new fish filter it's the black substance in the fish filter, you could rip it open get it wet and apply to a bite :)
