Works great with the new 2018 iPad Pro!
I got this thing several days ago mainly to use the VGA port to drive a projector over the VGA port from the USB-C connector on the iPad Pro 2018 rather than using a lot of money for a single-use device from Apple. With this, you get an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 (type a) port, a 3.5-inch headphone jack, an SD card reader, and a Compact Flash (CF) card reader, and I guess what is a micro SD card reader. Also, you get another usb-C port. So, as a test, I have this thing plugged into the usb-c port on the 2018 iPad Pro. Also, also have the 18W charger that comes with the 2018 iPad Pro plugged in, via a usb-c to usb-c cable, into the usb-c port of this adapter. As a result, the 2018 iPad Pro is charging (I don't know the rate of charge, though). Also, using a usb type-A to lightning cable, I can charge my iPhone X via the USB port on this adapter (it also wants to transfer phones from my phone to the iPad, but I don't want to do that right now). Unfortunately, at this moment, I am not getting any iPad Pro sound via the 3.5inch headphone jack. I will have to experiment some more on this. Maybe I need to unhook some of this other stuff. I point out that this thing didn't promise to work at all with an iPad, so it may work with other devices. I consider any iPad functionality with this thing a bonus.I did test the vga port on this and that works with the projector, which is the main thing I needed from this device.I will update this review when I have tested this device under more conditions. It seems there is a lot going on this with this thing.

Can't beat it for the price!
My laptop has a single usb-c port that is also used for power delivery. I also have an older VGA monitor that still works great as a secondary display. So I needed a dock that supports charging and has VGA and HDMI (for a new monitor at some point). Most docks with all that are at least twice this price.

HP Elitebook 840 G5 not supported.
Unfortunately, does not support HP Elitebook 840 G5 series even though laptop has USB-C and Thunderbolt connection. Will not display laptop video on a VGA or Display port monitor. Nicely built... wish it worked on HP.

Gets over heated!
Gets heated up even when just using one of the port. Didn't feel safe so returned it.

Compact and Effective
I purchased this to expand the number of inputs of my work laptop so this dock is extremely useful for me. Performance was quick and I transferred files to my USB with zero issues. If you're trying to find a slick looking dock with useful ports. Keep this in consideration.

Stiff, short cord.
Only four stars because cord is flat and stiff and has to be positioned straight out from computer because it’s too short to bend. Appears to pass signals effectively.

USB port not working
Firstly the USB port does not work, and then also the light intermittent and a weird smell, so all in all, not the perfect experience with this product, I have had a refund.

Got all what I need and no extra that I do not need
There is no any extra slot that I do not need. The design is good. For future improvement, the shape may change to oval shape.
