3-4 Lb Soap Molds & BAR Slicer SET

I am new to soap-making and researched for weeks every website and soap supplier I could get my eyeballs on before deciding on these molds. They are well-made and sturdy, and fairly straight forward to assemble the first time with some fiddling about (see below). I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the design and material for the price, honestly.Although the target of this product may be experienced soap makers I was not made aware I needed already have some tribal knowledge about these molds as there are no instructions or handout included. I would have like something like... "Hi these are HDPE mold which you can use for________soapmaking. It will/will not withstand CPOP and is safe to use up to to ______ºF. It is recommended you line (or not line) the mold (online it says '2 NO LINER SOAP MOLDS', but the reviewers seemed to contradict this). Enclosed is a bonus liner pattern. When un-molding your soap use the following techniques." etc! Also, I would have liked some assembly notes, nothing too complex including when you know you've tightened the nuts enough or too much. Plus, a little about the manufacturer, contact info, etc. I would have happily rated it 5 stars but for this exclusion.Lastly, there was a small problem with shipping which the seller resolved immediately. I was very impressed by the customer service shown to me.

Arrived in very good condition and performs as advertised. The only reason I did not give this a five star rating is there were no assembly instructions included. It was not hard to figure out, but someone with less mechanical ability may find it difficult. Otherwise great product and my soaping wife was very pleased with it. Happy wife Happy life.

I would give this a better rating if it you did not have to line the mold. You do have to put piece of freezer paper (slip) in the mold.After the first initial assembly it does get much easier to put together. It is very easy to clean. I pull mine apart and stick them in the dishwasher.

This is great for a beginners loaf mold. tricky to put together only the first time. I find when cutting the soap with the supplied cutter, wait a while, let the loaf cure for a week or so so that it is easier and you don't get a sticky mess. I lined them with cling/saran wrap on the very bottom, then wax paper folded into a boat (origami type stuff, the normal strip way should work fine too) that way the oils/moisture don't leak out onto the counter like it did when i used freezer/butcher paper. I used 33oz oils, 10.9oz distilled water, and 4.68oz lye and it fits perfectly into these 3 lb molds. not much room at the top to do decorative tops if you want to lay cling wrap over them, but if you are doing flat tops it works fine. pour, wait about an hour, sprits with 99% isopropol alcohol, then cover so the wrap doesn't damage any swirls or anything. if you trim off the ends, makes about 11-10 bars of soap plus the ends you can use as samples.

Good for melt and pour.. can't say the same for cold process, had to fight to get it out of the mold...

These molds and slicer are very good quality. The instructions are thorough, including assembly videos on you tube. I was considering making some molds out of hdpe myself, but the cost of materials is almost as much as I paid for these molds and slicer, plus the work is already done. Mine also come with a dough scraper with a slightly sharpened edge.

Soap sticks bottom is very bad not a good product and would not recommend

This mold works great, though I do line with freezer paper. I wish I would have ordered a smaller width though, the resulting bars are very big if you just slice them.No problem putting it together, but I did have to do a little mod on bottoms to get one of the molds to fit.
