Anything Yazoo is music to my ears. In the day they even beat out Abba and to have simultaneous Yaz and Depeche releases really put me in heaven, but alas things did change.Almost the full contents of both albums here (remastered? - maybe, none of those Mute remasters really sound any different to me), interestingly all four remixes from the Reconnected ep are here (which are interesting but it 's probaby tough to really 'remix' anything like Yazoo because the songs were already at their best - you can make them sound a little different but you really can't improve on them) and also of note original b-side to 'Only You' version of 'Situation' is included - I'm very pleased, but there was a version of 'Nobody's Diary' remixed by Andy Bell in some form or other - probably just as mp3/and it's very good - too bad it's missing. This was my youth, these were clever days.My copy of this cd now sits with Crystal Castles, Warp compilations, Boys Noize, Gusgus, IAMX and the like.Absolute brilliance, the very peak of pop to my ear.

Love this album
I saw this and ordered it as I liked Yazoo... I was surprised that the remixes were ok as well as usually when a classic song is revamped in such a way it can ruin it. But these are ok...Standout tracks are :Only YouDon't GoNobody's DiarySituationWalk Away From LoveUnmarkedState FarmAnyoneSoftly OverGoodbye 70'sTuesdayOde to Boy (Das Shadow Re-Work)Mr BlueGood TimesBring Your Love DownThis compilation contains almost all the tracks from the two studio albums... the only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of the original Don't Go extended and Re mixed versions from the original twelve inch single but I have that elsewhere... all in all very happy with the cd's.

FILLS SOME GAPS IN THE COLLECTION
For a band (duo? - never quite sure what the correct term is) who only managed to release two albums in their short (about eighteen months) life span, their legacy seems to continue. Whether that was down to the genius that was Vince Clarke or whether it was because they produced two fantastic albums & then went their separate ways - who knows. The two albums they released always seemed to me to be dark, almost chilling (almost American) - they weren't happy listening - "Anyone","Ode To Boy" & "And On" being almost perfect in their encapsulation of a mood - even now those two track will raise the hairs on my arms. This was probably Clarke at his best - he'd left Depeche Mode whilst they were still in their Synth Pop stage, (before they became Synth Goths) &, lets face it, Erasure are good for a laugh, but nothing they have ever done will match up to Yazoo. So I find it bizarre that a band who only released two studio albums can have three greatest hits (one a double) & a box set to their name. If you don't own anything by Yazoo & have only heard "Only You", "Don't Go" or "Nobodys' Diary", then this is as a good a place to start as any. In fact, it's probably the best place to start - this set contains pretty much all of their album work apart from a couple of tracks, plus a shed load of re-mixes. To be honest, even if you spend eight times as much for the "In Your Room" Box set, you're not going to get a lot much more. For me, it's kinda like the latest Blancmange Greatest Hits package - I have all the album tracks but it fills in a few re-mix/extended versions. But if you don't have any Yazoo & want to dip your toe, this is the one to get - this one package will drop you in the deep end!

For the Good, the Bad, I Don't Want to be, A Page in your Diary, Babe...
Alison Moyet and Vince Clark, who made up Yazoo, brought out some of the best music of the '80's. In particular, Upstairs at Erics, which tells the heartrending breakdown of a real relationship, and You and Me Both, a funky electronic masterpiece that really showcased Moyet's remarkable bluesy voice. This compilation is not as good as the two separate albums, above, in that the concept is destroyed by definition, with the tracks in no logical order. I guess we should be grateful to be able to have the mp3 download, as neither of their othet albums are available, except in audio CD format.

Fantastic!
In my opinion, this is one of the best Yazoo compilations available. The remixes are great, but I like the fact that the original versions are all here and all subliminally crackle free (unlike my old, well played vinyl versions)A great collection even if (like me) you already have these tracks on one format or other.10/10

The Yazoo days
Bought this as a gift for my husband. He had a lot of their music on vinyl and having no turntable to be able to play them, I decided to purchase this cd for him. He is loving the music and takes him back to the 80's.

This CD set is really good, in fact
This CD set is really good, in fact, there are songs on here that I have heard that I never knew was them! A very synthesized style of music, but they did an excellent job on it! In 1983 I was in the latter part of grade 11 and the early part of 1984 I was in grade 12 (I graduated in 1984); I was into heavier rock and missed this and now I am grateful to have it! See ya!
