Sea Shell Sifter Scoop with Treasure Bag

This thing is quite effective, the picture at the beach makes this thing look 6 feet tall but its actually less than 3 feet. Length isn't really a big deal as you're not processing huge amounts of dirt and sand at a time and you want to be able to bring the handle up and hold it while you shake out your ocean booty.We've gone to Venice beach previously (famous for getting shark teeth) and didn't find any when searching manually. 2 hours with this puppy and we found 30.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the length of the handle. I am not very tall and even for me the reach was very limited

The seller specifically states this is not to be used for digging, and we didn't dig with it, but we did use it in wet sand and by the end of a week it was toast. The handle also started to show rust/salt? stains.That being said we had fun with it. Absolutely not helpful for finding shark teeth as they fall through, which we knew from the size of the grate. Good for catching mole crabs, fun to play with at the sand/wave interface.

I used this sifter to pick up large shells on the beach. I used the corner of the basket to flip the shells over and pick them up. It worked well for this purpose. I didn't actually use it in the ocean because the water was cold. It was on 2/20/2019 in Wrightsville Beach, NC, US. I hope this helps. I'm sorry that I can't say how it worked in the water.

This broke the very first day using it. Next time, I will buy an all metal scoop. The plastic broke away from the handle. So disappointed.

the basket is very small its something for a child not for my husband who i bought it for

Thinking how did I ever do with out it, easy to use,light weigh,actually makes walking. Easier. I would look for shells 24/7 so this sifter is perfect for me,think of buying one maybe two more,for people that walk with me.

I bought this for my friends birthday gift. It came fast and looks like it will work great for sea glass.
