Stephen Frey's book Red Cell Seven, is not for the squeamish or the faint hardy, nor is it for the naive. It is, however, a good read. Frey captures the many facets of the political spectrum, and poses the very real question of how far people are willing to go for security. The book paints a realistic portrayal of politics in which the only goal is to remain in power by any means possible. RC7 also delves into the ethics of torture and containing terrorism. The problem is how to stop terrorist who have one goal - to kill anyone who disagrees with them. They indiscriminately kill and torture women and children in the guise of religion and won't stop unless caught. If you're looking for a hero in Red Cell Seven, you won't find one. What you will find are dedicated people working in the shadows to keep America safe.

good but hard to read some parts
This book is too crazy with terrorists. The characters are good but it's way too sadistic and hard to read parts of it. I like Frey's financial stories better. Too much of this terrorist mania in writing today, movies and tv. It's getting boring to see who is the most evil. The first book Arctic Fire was much better than this one not having as many torture scenes. Stephen Frey does spin a good story but it's a bit much spreading so much fear. There are a few sort of predictable surprises. If there is a 3rd book in this serie. Don't think I'll read it. I don't think there is any originality in books left today. All copy cats. Although it is a page turner and enjoyable if you can block out all the violence.

Challenging
When I first started reading this book, I was ready to give up. I continued to push through and I am glad that I did. The pace of the book picked up considerably.about a third of the way. I think the author tried hard to bring those that had not read Arctic Fire up to speed. This resulted in a very slow and convoluted story initially. The author was able to bring clarity by focusing the story on Troy and how struggles to resolve the challenges faced by the Red Cell team. The author does a great job towards the end, providing more twists that leaving you wanting to know what happens next with Troy, Jack, Bill, and Shane. It's tough going initially, but if you keep reading you will be glad that you took the challenge.

Amazing!
I cannot say enough good about this series. I just happened onto it a few days ago and have read the two books in this series in four days. I couldn't lay them down. The only negative thing I can say is that they ended too soon and that I have to wait for the next one. I love the fact that they are written in today's world and with today's problems. They are fiction and are a little far fetched but can see where some of the incidents could really happen. I just love that they are written with a conservative frame of mind and with a crazy group RCS so over the top patriotic. I cannot wait till the next one comes out. I hope I'm the very first one to buy it. Mr. Frey is an excellent author and I will definitely read some of his other books. Mr. Frey this is an excellent series. Please keep them coming. God Bless America!

LOVE IT...VERY GOOD READ
Was a very good read. I enjoy books of this genre. I have book 3 and hope there will be more RED CELL SEVEN books. I would say that I wish the author would go into more detail as to how the RCS group gets their info instead of just having the group show up at a location. I would say other than that issue I would put this series with the Mitch Rap series.

A step down from Arctic Fire.
I liked the plot of this book. It seemed a logical progression from the first book in the Red Cell series. As I made my way through the story, I found it more difficult to stay engaged in the reading. Some of the plot twists were a little too convenient and predictable. However, what troubled me the most was that the story seemed too dependent on dialogue. I like a story told through imagination. A story that paints the scene, rather than explicitly telling me it is winter. A story that gives me subtle clues and foreshadowing, rather than being obvious.Assuming there is another book in the Red Cell series I will likely read it, if for no other reason than curiosity. But frankly, the writing in this installment was a little pedestrian for me to make it a priority.

I purchased the 3 book series. It was a great offer and saves me time when I wanted the second and third books. The story began to develop in the first book and was further developed in the third book which I will finish tonight. If you are interested in CIA / FBI / government intrigues on a global basis, then the three book series purchased upfront is a smart investment and has provided me with many nights of great reading.

Terrifyingly Real, Yet Heartwarming too.
One brother is dead and the other has come back from the dead. A brilliant political thriller that takes one high profile family to the brink and back again. Can Troy and his father Bill find the terrorists that are killing innocent people in public places? A must buy....June Finnigan - writer

Red Cell Seven(Book 2)
Having read the first book in this series, I had no hesitation in reading the second book. I didn't find this book as good as the first one, probably because it wasn't as action packed. This said, it still was a great story, and I look forward to reading the third book.

A good romp, told with good pace
I loved book 1 in the series and this is pretty good too. Some elements of the plot are a bit less credible than others, but overall a good romp, well told with good pace. I hope when I get the next one in the series it isn't a disappointment.

Talking shop
The main problem with this book is there is too much talking and not enough action.on many occasions to the detriment of the storyline.
