RCK Snare Throwoff and Butt by Drum Foundry, Chrome Plated

***UPDATE***I built two more snares recently and used this throw. The first was flawless. The second was a little tricky. The throw didn't want to lift, so after replacing the little rubber stopper/bumper in it with a slightly longer piece (pirated from one of my son's Lego sets) and greasing it up a lot inside, it works much better. I still stand by my comments below, but I'm going to lower my rating to four stars.Gotta say after building over 25 of snares in the last three years, this might be my favorite throw. For all the 3-position throws out there, you have the drawbacks of the enormous size. They all stick out a lot, making it a concern fitting in a soft case. This throw is solidly built, and it's ideal as an upgrade for the cheap throw that came with your Black Beauty. I made this Slingerland Sound King lookalike stave snare, and the RCK matches the retro vibe of the lugs and hoops pretty well. Love the butt plate. It comes with adjustable screw plate and a gasket. I have a feeling it make take the brunt of a fall if you were to drop your snare on the butt...maybe. Probably not so much with a thin brass shell or one of my thin stave drums.Worth the little extra. I've used them all...this one is a solid choice.

This is a pretty nice throw - I got these to work with an adapter plate to replace a couple vintage slingerland zoomatics.1st one was good, so I ordered a 2nd - 2nd one looked like a returned one or factory second, kinda beat-up & loose, but whose got time to return/complain? I don't.heavy, simple, look nice, adjustable - my only criticism really is they don't "lock" or snap into the on position. I'm concerned they will slowly move to off as I gig.

Essentially it was what I wanted, a durable & simple throw off. Installs easily. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the lever can rattle just a touch when you play the drum with the snares off. Feels "weighty" with out being overly heavy on the thin maple drum I put it on.

The RCK snare Throwoff and butt by Drum Foundry, are one of the best product out there, on the market today, for up grading your throwoff and butt, because they where design to fit a number of different size whole sitting. I alway use the Drum Foundry snare Throwoff and butt plate when building a new snare drum, because of there smooth throw.

I recently bought 2 throwoffs and butts for 2 snares that had Nickelworks parts that had cracked. The RCK stuff is so much better mechanically and aesthetically, has no plastic parts to crack, costs less, and is a snap to install! I highly recommend these products!!
