Solid Mailbox Mount
Steel plate, coated for longevity, pre-drilled for most applications. I was able to use 4 deck screws to secure it on top of the post; really important as it can get very "windy" here in Fla.

Works Well With Large Mailboxes
I decided to upgrade to a larger (postmaster) mailbox when plow took out my post. Decided to go with a mount instead of a board and did not regret it. The mount fit perfectly on my 4" x 4" cedar post (actual dimensions 3.5" x 3.5"). Plenty of hardware included, including spacers to make it fit the larger 8" bottom of my new mailbox. Only four stars because one locknut was faulty and the pre-drilled holes could have been lower to make it easier to drill pilot holes.
