- very cinematic, fast paced. Great characters, fascinating insight into real historical figure, not too heavy, really enjoyable but fantastically well-written and researched. Made me want to read more of Isabel Allende....

Interesting story told in Allende's voice. Good to know how the legend began and the real ? man behind the legend.

I love Allende's book and this is one her great books
