Cool and bright!
No more burns! No more shelling out money for halogen bulbs! My new dual 500 watt halogen work light burned out both bulbs within 3-4 days of moderate use. I purchased this light to replace it while we work on building our new home.I tested this light side by side with my heating and cooling contractor's 500 watt halogen light and it's only a little dimmer. He was quite impressed with it and wanted to use it along with his so he had more light! The light is much whiter from the LED and the spread is quite good. Again, almost as good as the halogen. The light housing has cooling fins on the back and even after running a couple hours those fins are warm, but not hot. The glass on the front doesn't get hot either. It's fairly heavy and feels substantial.Like another reviewer said, the small black plastic plugs that go in the ends of the tube base/handle can come out easily. I had one loose in the package. I wrapped the base of the plastic plug with a bit of masking tape and re-inserted it and it stayed in just fine. The tube base/handle do feel somewhat flimsy, but they do the job of holding the light up.The light head can be tilted back, but not to the point of being printing straight up. I'd say somewhere between a 45 degree and 60 degree angle. I haven't tried pointing it downward, but I imagine it can be somewhat.Very happy with this purchase.

Good purchase
This LED work light is very bright. I don't have a light meter but it does seem to put out about the same amount of light as a 200 watt halogen, which has about the same amount of lumens. This light seems perfect for painting walls/ceilings. It is a whiter light than halogen, so shadows are more apparent. I need to skim coat and paint a 32' x 15' ceiling that was damaged from a leaking pipe. I bought two to minimizes shadows from my body up on a ladder.Halogen lights get very hot, consumes much more electricity the filament breaks if knocked around. it's a pain to replace a bulb - worse if you need to run out to buy one.The LED housing is a beefy metal heatsink with fins to help dissipate heat from the LED and seems well built. My one negative is the thumb screw doesn't hold the tilt firmly without cranking on it. I haven't done that yet for fear of breaking it, although the thumb screw goes into a regular nut. More worried about the plastic part of the thumb screw coming apart with force.Save Big Money sells a similar lumen LED worklight for $150. SKU: 3703825 That one looks to have a better stand but not worth the additional cost difference IMO.

One Star
The unit came without the base support.

Well, it lights up the place. it held ...
Well, it lights up the place. it held up well so far, but the lamp is fixed against the wall, so no rough handling. What makes me wonder what causes the radio to be full of static noise. Any radio. No listening to the radio with the light on.For quite a distance. That is the reason for the low rating.

Good light output, bad plexiglass lense
Great light output but the plexiglass lens doesn't hold up well to daily abuse. We use these for welding jobs and the lens was destroyed within the first 3 days.

Cool to the touch and VERY bright. LOVE IT.
I love it. Overall quality is higher than I expected. The light is very bright--brighter than the cheapo halogen work lights I've had in the past. I hesitated to spend $80+ on a work light, but now that I have it, I don't regret it all all. Those halogens are hot enough to start a fire while this LED is only warm to the touch. After you've bought a few of those $5 - $12 halogen bulbs, this LED light is a steal. Seriously a great product. I bought a second one, and am considering this as a gift for a few folks.UPDATE: Bulb burned out within a few months! I'm not a professional using this light every day and dragging it around to job sites. It stays in my house and was used occasionally--not abused. I do/did really like this light! I am hoping the manufacturer will stand behind it. One point of LED is basically lifetime bulb.UPDATE: Great news! The company stood behind this light. They replaced it with a new one. They made it easy and handled shipping both ways. They even sent me a new light and let me ship the broken one back in the box rather than make me send the broken one first.Given my satisfaction with the light and the fact the company took care of me when it broke, I have to say RECOMMENDED.

Bright light but It needs a shroud and a longer cord was expected.
It is a bright white light and does not get hot. The main goal was to avoid going through 250/500 watt bulbs. It did solve the bulb problem. Over all I am happy but there are 2 issues. A minor issue; the cord is short - only a few feet, for the price - should have at least a 10' cord on it. The second issue was a big one. GLARE - the light puts out a wide light pattern and is not comfortable to work with as it blinds you often and is distracting. I had to be behind it or in front of it for my eyes to be comfortable. This issue was solved with a shroud made of cardboard and tape. After I put the shroud on - I really like it. I covered the top and 1/2 way down the sides with a 10" shroud that tapers down the sides. MUCH better now!

This is the way to go.
This LED light fixture has greatly exceeded my expectations in a couple of ways. Initially, I didn't realize just how much more efficient my process would be with the immediate ability to see and inspect the details of my work. My application uses this fixture placed about 12 inches away from my hands and the work. It sits on the welding-fabrication table I use for tig welding steel furniture like coffee and end tables. This allows me to evaluate the details of every weld as soon as I turn the torch off. My shop does not have a ton of electrical capacity, so it's valuable to have 3300 lumens focused on the work piece with a circuit load of only 30 watts, instead of the usual 250 to 500 watt alternative quartz flood lites. (watts divided by volts = amps) Appreciated also is the complete absence of the cumulative area heating effect of incandescent lighting. I've been using this work light for about thirty days and feel lucky to have run across this fixture while looking for task lighting solutions.
