I need a 2nd slice and I need it right NOW!
Ohhh myyy goshhh, this is such a holiday surprise (to me...er, for me) Let me come clean in the opening statement that I have been on a Keto Diet for the last 2 months and I expect to continue the Keto Lifestyle for the rest of my life............................except for this week. Because this fruit cake is "THE BEST FRUIT CAKE IN THE WORLD"! Holy smokes, the cardboard box had a wonderful image of the Corsicana bakery in Texas and the artistic masterpiece of a tin is such a treat that I will never throw it away....how could you as it's truly a beautiful piece of Americana. The fruit cake is amoungst a set of cakes that vary from pineapple & pecans to a mega-pecan monster. Pecan pies are also their speciality. I knew none of this before. The cake had pecans and candied cherries on top and a perfect mix of medium brown colored cake with holiday sugar sweetness bombs. Have it with tea, have it with coffee, have it with champagne...but JUST HAVE IT. Do not fret, do not check who's naughty or nice, do not wait a minute more...it ships on Amazon THANK GOD! IT'S A MIRACLE!! Buy it yesterday! Oh, and I will have to freeze half so that I may return to the Keto Lifestyle. But today....I need a 2nd piece...and I need it RIGHT NOW!UPDATE: ...couldn't wait. EATING my 2nd slice right now. Is your mouth watering yet?UPDATE #2: Waited a week, then ventured into my freezer where I had buried a golden treasure that would have forced Queen Isabella to built more ships to bring this Texas delight back to the mother country. And I had the foresight to have presliced the cake before sealing in a large vacuum bag. I am reminded of a flight back-in-the-day when there were "direct plane flights"....terms get bantied about and get smushed into mush...those are the flights which stop midway somewhere but you didn't get off the jet if you were continuing on. Only 4 of us were waiting...but the flight attendants were huddled about a 1st class passenger and giggling. I walked up and discovered thst he was "the voice of Tony The Tiger"! Mr. Ravenscroft told us he was going to Orlando to be honored by Kellogg's for X years of support for "Frosted Flakes"...as he had touched generations and repeat generations with his voice. Well, he also was the voice for the Christmas song "Mr. Grinch". Think about it...yeah, that voice from the song you are singing is the same voice as Tony The Tiger. Well, don't you be a Mr. Grinch this Christmas, and wish all of your friends a very Merry Christmas...or bettet yet surprise them. Wouldn't this be a super duper incredible surprise...you'd be the gathering's "star".There's 4 photos but you have to click to see the 4th..and BEST ONE! Isn't your mouth salivating like Pavlov's dog whenever you look at the 4th photo...that slice with coffee is sheer bliss. So, don't be a Mr. Grinch ...buy it. Buy it right now! You will thank me! đ

Forgive me father (in-law) for I have sinned.
I ordered this fruit cake for my father-in-law who is in assisted living. When the fruitcake arrived at my house, I removed the tin box from the cardboard shipping container so that I could gift wrap it for Christmas for him. Moments before I placed the fruitcake on my counter for wrapping, I thought it would be a good idea to examine the contents of the container, and I removed the cover to look at the cake. As I stood there, looking down at this wonderful specimen laying helplessly before me, I succumbed to the incredible and succulent aroma that came upon me and in which became mingled with my olfactory receptors. Sadly, in a moment of weakness, I found my hands grasping for a knife in which to slice through the cake in order to take a small "test" sample. My weakness grew as did my hunger and to make a long story short, I very selfishly devoured the cake as the glutton I turned into and I will seek forgiveness from the Pope and beg for leniency as I hurriedly order a new cake to have shipped directly to my father-in-law whom I know will be filled with glee as I was, in sampling this incredible baked item that was such a joy to consume.Say what you will or might want to say about fruitcakes, but this one was wickedly wonderful and those folks down in Corsicana, Texas make some mighty bodacious and fabulous fruitcakes. I have never-ever tasted one that was even this close to totally wonderful. (Maybe I died and went to Heaven and I don't need to contact the Pope?)(UPDATE, 1-2-2015... I FELT SO BAD FOR MY FATHER-IN-LAW - HAVING DEVOURED THE ABOVE MENTI0NED FRUIT CAKE, THAT ON CHRISTMAS EVE AS I WAS VISITING HIM IN HIS APARTMENT IN THE ASSISTED LIVING CENTER I USED THE AMAZON AP ON MY IPHONE AND ORDERED A SECOND FRUIT CAKE AND HAD IT SENT DIRECTLY TO HIM, INSTEAD OF BEING DELIVERED TO MY HOUSE. WE JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH HIM AND HIS FRUITCAKE ARRIVED EARLIER IN THE DAY, AND HE IS IN "HOG-HEAVEN" AS WE SAY HERE IN TEXAS...)

Good
Adequate. A few huge chunks of glaceed fruit on top, which made it less attractive and we picked those off. Gethsemene Farmâs is better.

The best fruit cake ever!
I loved this fruit cake and I donât really care for fruit cake! It is moist beyond description, full of nuts and fruit!! I bought this as a gift for my boss but he shared a couple of pieces with me and I am considering buying one to have at home. It was smaller than I expected for the price but once I tasted it I was beyond pleased with the gift. Will definitely buy one again next year if not sooner for myself!

NOT IMPRESSED
Well, I was really excited to try this fruit cake. I heard about Collin Street Bakery on a pod cast and the information given that the fruit cake recipe came from German immigrants in the 1890's sounded very interesting. So I thought I would give it a try. The cake comes in a decorated tin and looks appetizing. The amount of pecans on top made it difficult to wait until I had time to sit down and enjoy it. First I have to say I picked off a couple of the pecans on top, popped them in my mouth and was surprised there was no taste to them. I love pecans and thought coming from Texas these pecans should be very flavorful indeed. The cake is packed with fruit and nuts and I became even more disappointed. I wanted to taste the pineapple, honey, and all the ingredients. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. No flavor at all. So I thought, how long has this cake been setting on the shelf? I looked for an expiration date but none was found. Hm. Well, it is fruitcake. Possibly the shelf life is 25 years? I don't know.
