I am semi-obsessed with this movie. Some *SPOILERS*My list of great choices made in this movie:Cooper/Murph relationship - the key to the whole movie. This may be the best parent/child relationship ever in the movies. I would have been happy if this had just been a movie about them trying to save the farm. Making Murph a girl instead of a boy as in the original script made Coopers' leaving even more poignant.Blight - very creative. Much easier to stick with cliches like global warming. Blending clips from the a Ken Burns Dust Bowl documentary was clever. Also keeping the effects of blight on a local level was more intimate.Plan A / Plan B - adds a huge amount of dramatic tension later in the movie when Murph finds out Prof. Brandt lied about his equation. There is an amazing couple of minutes when we go from the Professor's death bed confession to j. Chastain, then cut to the back of Chastains head making the video telling Amelia that her father died and asking if she knew Plan A was a sham, to part of the video playing on the Endurance then the camera panning out a window as the crew is heading to Mann's planet.Cooper as a one of a kind pilot and backing it up 6 different times in the movie - overcomes this cliche and More than justifies Coopers choice that he was essential to the mission. Most movies maybe one or two times. I counted 6.Making "Time" the Bad Guy - the time dilation and relativity were fascinating and quite emotional to see their effects. McC watching videos from his family was gut wrenching. Especially the shock when we see J. Chastain as Murph.Dr. Mann- interesting character. Serves 2 purposes. Explains Prof. Brandt's sham and gives Cooper another opportunity to show what a badass pilot he is. Also, I think Brandt really bonded with Cooper emotionally after he saved them. Mann gave an excuse for maybe the 2 best set pieces ever in filmed.The whole leaving Mann's Planet/docking/slingshotting around Gargantuan section - mezmorizing genius' at work.The Tesseract - what kind of minds can think of something this brilliant.Keeping the focus of the movie on Murph's bedroom - despite all the spectacular visuals, what gave this movie it's huge heart was Murph's bedroom and what it represented to her regarding her relationship with her father.Three technical choices I do not think other directors would use -Models - scuffed and beat up. Really really realistic looking.Use of projection screens rather than CGI.mounting the camera on the Ranger and not cutting to some wide angle shot of the Ranger actually flying. very visceral.Dragging Ellen Burstyns speech out at the end of the movie cutting to AmelIa - I don't think this movie is getting enough credit for how the music and editing flow from scene to scene. A lot of times to music starts very quietly and gradually builds from scene to scene very effective. (Cooper telling Murph he is leaving) (Prof Brandt's confession >Chastain's video of pain/anger>screen on the Endurance- very effective menacing music)Interstellar is a film that wins the hearts of the audience not only with its sci-fi splendor, but also an emotional story that lies at its very heart. This film is not only about the discoveries, space exploration and the final frontier of mankind, but also about the relationship of father and daughter, who were in a difficult situation in life when one has to leave the other in the name of a goal that can not be underestimated. So, with what Nolan's genius unfolds before us this action is beyond praise. Combining the story, filled with not only real science fiction, but the true human values ''and emotions, breathtaking visuals, epic and dramatic soundtrack, Christopher Nolan breathed the life into this film by his directing again to create something truly masterpiece.No, I wasn’t able to find any bad flaws in the film. Not one, and I'm still looking. After all, Interstellar is like gravity, “all it takes is a little push ! “

Earth is turning environmentally unihabitable and NASA sends a space probe through a portal near planet saturan which is probably opened by aliens or future human beings 48 years ago for saving present humanity or future humans from inevitable death.Almost every current hot topic of science has been touched but not deeply, like portal to other dimensions and far distances, black holes, time dilation and contraction account.to Einstein's relativity theory at near light speed and near black holes,event horizon,inside black holes, etc. Also human traits emotions love fear etc. Good entertainment. Worth watching.

This movie needs no review. Being directed by Christopher Nolan, you know exactly what to expect. There are some who find him over-rated and some who absolutely love everything he does. I belong to the latter category. So if you are one of many who loved the movie, you probably have already bought this blu-ray.The disc released in India is a 2 disc edition. Disc 1 includes the movie and Disc 2 includes the bonus features. The audio-video quality on this disc is excellent. The movie is presented in shifting aspect ratios (2.39:1 and 1.78:1) like the Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises blu-rays to replicate the IMAX experience. The scenes shot in IMAX do look better than the regular scenes. The audio is in DTS-HD MA 5.1. There is no hindi or any indian language audio track or subtitles. Do note that in some scenes, the background music is mixed so loudly that the dialogues cannot be heard. But this was done intentionally by Nolan and is not a fault of the disc. The extras include The Science of Interstellar - a 50 minute documentary, Inside Interstellar - a 1 hour 50 minute long behind the scenes feature which is split into 14 mini features (there is no option to play all together, which is bad) and 4 trailers. All over the world, the similar discs are released, only difference is in the packaging. The US version includes an IMAX film cell, which is not included on the Indian edition. But there is a slipcover.One more thing, the dvd released in India is a single disc version with no bonus features and no shifting aspect ratios. So if you have the necessary equipment to play blu-rays, don't compromise.

I got the normal non-artbook two disc edition from the seller "The paper palette" for Rs295 and i must say this movie is definitely worth more than that! The packaging was adequate. But movie is surely a masterpiece that NEEDS to be owneded as a two-disc blu-ray with its special features. The movie format does change from 16:9 during the epic VFX scenes and 2.4:1 for normal drama scenes. This was intentionally done by Director and producer Christopher Nolan. You can look it up for more info on why so don't worry, there's nothing wrong with the disc formatting or recording. I would definitely suggest you to get the 2 disc version as the special feature disc contains a documentary on the science behind Interstellar voiced by Mathew McConaughey himself and more clips on how the background story, conceptualisation and design of the robots, the space travel, the dust, the eerie space music and more. This gives more insight into the research and effort put into the story and the movie as a whole and you would surely love, especially even more if you're a creative person of any form.

Love this film - its a long film but it engrosses me, largely down to the soundtrack but brilliantly effects and acting from Matthew McConaughey (at his career best? "True Detective" era)Moving and heartfelt but exhilarating action too. Preferred this to Gravity.Word of warning: Lots of Science/Time travel mumbo jumbo :-) You don't "need" to understand it to enjoy this film

Excellent film; I love a great thought-provoking, mind-bending movie and this serves that category with aplomb. Aside from the stunning visuals lies a personal, human story, and a heartening relationship between a father and his daughter. The Digibook is a quality product, full of good quality stills from the film; certainly worth getting the special edition!

I found this to be not as good as GRAVITY although some of the effects were pretty spectacular, where would we be without CGI. I got lost a bit with the story and some of speaking was a bit mumbled which made you turn up the volume slightly. I am glad I bought it so I can watch it again in a few months time to perhaps revise my opinion.

Absolutely loved Interstellar. Was pleased to get the blu-ray when it came out!

Husband enjoyed it. I gave up on it after about 20 minutes, but then it's not my type of film. Husband has now enjoyed watching it twice so it must be quite good.
