Built like a tank
When I saw this with a $30 price tag I just had to buy one. Its the budget version of the Cold Steel Bush Ranger that sells for upward of $100. The knife is very robust, looks like a sharpened pry bar, but weighs just 5 ounces, the blade is 3.5 inches long and 3.8mm thick. One of the best features for me is the strong reinforced tip that that should not break under normal use. The GRN handle is strong and comfortable with a sliding blade lock on the left side. This will double lock the blade in open or closed position. Unlike most Cold Steel knives this model has a conventional blade lock, not the Tri-Lock system. However I don't find this a handicap, the lock-up is solid with no blade play. The overall build quality is top rate, the blade is perfectly centered in the handle, no blade play when open and no rough edges. I love the ergonomics, it fits my hand just right and the blade stud is just right for fast reliable opening. The handle texture gives a firm hold without roughness, a reversible belt clip is also fitted. The low price is because the knife is manufactured in China and uses their 8cr14mov high carbon stainless steel. I have used this steel for 20 years, its very tough and capable of a razor edge, excellent for a working knife. The only down side is that I am sure some customers would have preferred the Tri-Lock, but for me not an issue. Best $30 I have spent in a long time.

crocodile dundee
so the crocodile said something like, you think that's a knife, this is a knife. And folks, this is indeed a knife. Locking mechanism is fantastic. Just remember, you need to depress the rear of the bar to close. Ifyou are fiddling with the front or middle, it simply will not close any of the cold steel knives.Liked it so much, bought another right away.

Good pocket knife for the price
This is a good pocket knife for the price ,it has a safety lock device that can be used to lock it open or closed , but it has a very small amount of up and down blade play with a even smaller amount of side to side play but it doesn't effect the ability of the functionality of the knife .So it's a good one for the price. The Bush Ranger is far better, but this is a affordable alternative. 👍4 stars.

Great value knife! Sharp, comfortable and safe
My boys are learning the value of independence and living in the woods, so of course they need a good knife. The problem with pocket knives are that they tend to go missing, so you really don’t want to gift a 12 yo a $300 pocket knife- but you can get a quality knife with this guy right here. It’s sharp out of the box (a safe knife is a sharp knife), there is a lock on the fold out blade, and there is the strong locking blade made to keep the knife blade open when you want it open (anyone ever had a blade on a cheap knife fall back on your fingers?!?).My son loves it, and I love it too. It’s a great size and an all around good blade for the things we are doing in our forest.

The Price Is Right!
I am an instant fan of this folder from Cold Steel, it's a deal at the low thirty's with a nice smooth action easy to work lock back and it has a lock for the blade in either position so you can work with it as you would a fixed blade. This is only my 3rd Cold Steel knife and I really like all of them. This company makes great working blades for those of us who don't want to spend a fortune on an EDC that is big, beautiful, and has the right stuff for getting the job done! This one is made from a cheaper steel but it came in razor sharp and ready to rock. My other two were both deals as well, the Recon 1 made from S35VN steel under 95 dollars, and the Voyager made from AUS10 under 52 dollars. I am now a believer in a company that puts out big blades that can do the work you buy them for.

Superb cutlery.
I’m a collector of fine cutlery and cold steel products fit the bill. Construction of this pocket knife is extraordinary and durability is assured by the fine craftsmanship. Highly recommend this product.

Blade is very nice. But it definitely has its downfalls
Blade millimeter and thickness is fantastic The edge is good tempering isn't bad on this blade I do have negative things to say about the handle the plastic is cheap The blade on this knife deserves so much better locking mechanism should have been designed differently The blade outweighs the handle which is not ideal. But again the blade holds an edge and is tempered pretty well blade retention on the tip is strong doesn't bend easy. But I'm short varies from knife to knife.I just would have designed to handle with a better material and a better locking mechanism

not bad
Got this for Xmas and it's not a bad little knife for 34 bucks. It's obvious its made in china, the blade and locks don't line up and there is some wobble in the blade. I need clarification because CS has other 30-ish dollar knives made in Taiwan and they are way better. I don't think its a knife I'd want to go survive with, but good for a cheap work knife.
