Love it. Most affordable option.
I did a lot of research online for a stand up desk and fortunately I stumbled across this page on Amazon.I enthusiastically recommend this product. If' you cannot spend more than $200 on a stand up desk, then look no further. This is the best option I found since the other stand up desks can range from $600-$2000.Note, that you still have to purchase two pieces from IKEA, however, you will spend less than $200 total for this (DIY Standing Desk Kit unit) plus all the IKEA pieces.I had some questions on how the IKEA pieces fit with the DIY Standing Desk Kit unit, and the owners responded to my email with a phone call the same day.I have had the desk for almost a month now and have had no problems. I love it!

It's 4 pieces of wood with holes cut in each. Buy 4 pieces of scrap, size to your liking, and drill holes in them. Done. What a scam.

Absolutely worth the price if can't afford high end standing desk.
Takes some getting used to but worth it. Must put it near or touching a wall as the large white piece that acts as the tabletop that everything rests on is not screwed into or attached to the four pieces sitting on it. Just gravity holding it down, and also there are a rubbery pieces where the four slats meet the table creating a stickiness or resistance so the piece doesn't slide around. It is absolutely worth the price if you can't afford one of the super expensive standing desks out there. Those desks are motorized and easily move up and down to your exact specifications. Whereas you are limited to height specifications based on the space between each peg hole for this one. About an inch or so between each one. So you may not get to the exact height you want within millimeters but pretty darn close. However if you're like me and can't afford the crazy expensive high tech desks I would absolutely recommend getting this it changed my world. You should also get some kind of chefs mat or even yoga may for your feet to stand on as being on your feet all day is an adjustment for sure. Make sure there are places to sit nearby as it's best to take little breaks throughout the day. A high stool is also helpful.

A Misunderstanding
A confusing product depiction created a misunderstanding resulting in the need to return the order. It appeared the product was a stand up desk when, in fact, it turned out to be height adjusting slats to convert a sitting desk to a standing. So I retract my original review and substitute this. Amazon was very helpful in quickly crediting my account and the seller adjusted the product description that, on review, will prevent others from making an assumption similar to mine that led to receiving something other than what I thought I ordered.

Incorrect instructions, need yoga or flat belly
I just finished a review of the trestle legs so read that first before reading this, unless you've already put the trestle legs together and just want a higher desktop. The instructions are not fully correct we these extionsions. The instructions will state where to substitute the leg trestle instructions but they don't go far enough. Because these extension pieces are much longer that the original set, you have to make an adjustment as to how to proceed with the 5th instruction. The lower rack will not fit with those long extension pieces, so you have to put on your creative hat or access your right brain as to how to proceed. If you're sitting on the floor, as I was, you will be thankful for yoga. If you will be sitting on a bench or chair, it will be best if you don't have a big belly and if you have a strong back. I'm not going to rewrite the instructions here, that's Ikea's job to do it correctly. Before this purchase, I was concerned that the desk top wouldn't be high enough. I'm 5'7" tall and I have the extensions on the second hole from the top, which means that I have 6 additional holes with which I can increase the height another 10". For the desktop, we purchased an unfinished hollow-core door slab (does not have the hole for the handle) at Menard's for under $40. It is 32" wide and 80" long, and is approx 1.25" thick which brings the desk top at my waist. It's a perfect height for me. Oh -- one more thing, in a previous review, someone mentioned the high cost of these pieces and had gone to Home Depot or Menard's -- somewhere like that -- to buy wood and have the pieces drilled. Don't be foolish. These pieces are worth their cost. They are of great quality, they're well sanded, and you don't have to mess with anything, except the instructions.

It was so easy to set up and gives me a stand up ...
It was so easy to set up and gives me a stand up desk with my own added plywood piece I had cut to the size at Lowes for Free. Then I painted the top to match the legs. It lowers simply with removable adjustable pegs for a fraction of the cost of any stand up desk on the market, plus you can adjust to use as a regular sit down desk!My friends husband got the Black legs and painted his desk top Silver for a modern looking desk top!

4 pieces of wood with holes in it shouldn't cost this much
Purchased this thinking that it would be better than a real "DIY" of going down to the home depot, I was wrong. What would cost $8 at Lowes costs $80 here. This is 4 pieces of wood with some holes in it. And when you get it up high enough for a 6'3" guy like me it isn't stable, and the wood isn't hard enough to support any wobble without cracking.I ended up building my own from Maple, and then reinforcing the bottom 8 inches with a metal L brace. Then to make the table not risk tipping side to side, attached a 1 pound weight to the legs of the Ikea trestle.

Perfect standing desk solution.
This is the key to a great standing-desk solution, along with the Ikea Linnmon / Finnvard desktop and the trestle legs. The material appears to be very nice northern red oak, strong and durable, and a perfect match to the trestles. One star off for the price ... $90 for 4 pieces of hardwood with 10 holes ...ouch. But, you don't have to go out and find materials and work them and the hardwood is very top-grade. Most importantly, this is plug and play. Glad they make them.
