Marantz Professional Pod Pack 1 | Broadcast Boom Arm with Included USB Condenser Microphone

I have a part time youtube channel not a very big one i only upload once or twice a year with no proper inventory . Unlike the new kids I have been monetized since 2015 and i used basic mics and stuff . Now was the time I gave serious thoughts to youtube. Thus after a lot of research between Samson and others I had too choose this . got the delivery yesterday and I am complty satisfied with the built and performance quality

Microphone is surprisingly heavy, however pleasant to hold should you ever decide to use it that way. USB cable is about 1m long, which might turn out to be too short depending on your situation; I as I plan to tie it to the telescope arm I am likely to use an alternative, longer USB cable, or a repeater cable to connect it to my system. Telescope arm is of standard size and easy to assemble, though only in upright position since the clamp receives the arm only by sliding in without any fixture. But that is not an issue for me. The arm itself is surprisingly resistant to movement and manipulation compared to arms designed for lamps - but that again is no surprise given the weight of the microphone to hold steadfast.Connecting the microphone was a breeze on my Mac (OS X Sierra) - plug in, and select "USB MICROPHONE" and you're good to go. But what blew me away was the recording quality: Sitting in my room using the laptop, with the window open and background noise (cars, birds, wind in the foliage) and Quicktime recorded - silence. Just silence. I love this microphone. Initialy I didnt know how to set it up but read what is characteristic of it and change position from upside down to upright position with logo facing me. This way it dont pickup me typing on keyboar or clicks of mouse. I also moved keyboard and mouse behind microphone. As it is on pod i just extended it more towards me. Once setup as explained I did recordings to my podcast nad voiceover my videos. As I am not a profesional and dont sing I cannot judge that but for my needs its perfect. Microphone didnt pick up noise from PC next to it, my wife and tv noise few meters away which I was very pleased. For me 5 star.

Bought for voice calls and chat while working from home. Much better range than my previous mic (I.e you can lean right back in the chair and it picks you up fine). The range is a mixed blessing - it picked up the sound of a crying child on a different floor... not a complaint but be careful what you wish for.The adjustable boom (included) seems to do the job. As other reviewers have mentioned it’s a little flimsy so would not cope with constant adjustment if that’s what you need.

I hated wearing my headphones for every zoom or teams call. I wanted a mic for my desk, and one that I could move around if I needed it to - so this pack of mic and arm was perfect for me.I was able to set this mic up super easily, and use it with every piece of software I've thrown at it.People comment on how clear I sound on calls, and being free of my headset/headphones in my home is very satisfying.

I would have given this all 5 star but because there was no pop filter included I gave it 4 star for value for money. However, this usb condenser microphone has very good sound output, minimal noise and almost no need for editing. The metal boom's build is quite sturdy. The metal is thick and it doesn't produce a reverberating noise when touched. It fits very nicely onto my bookshelf so it is really handy, see photos attached. The mic itself has a plastic base but it looks and feels strong, so I don't worry about it getting smashed. It picks up sound very well and the output sound is full and if you are in a hurry you won't have to worry much about editing out unwanted noises.
