I LOVE THIS LIGHT !
I originally bought one around 2005 at Walgreens. That same light still works in 2023 now! I’ve been looking for these for years ever since. I’ve sponsored needy families, I wanted to buy this light for them but could never find it. How can you have such a great light, yet can never find it anywhere? I don’t understand…I saw them earlier this year at Walmart online for $15.99 but I didn’t have money . Finally when I did have money, Walmart sold out, but I found one here $15.99 also. I had to buy an extra backup for myself right away. The opportunity to buy for my families is gone now, what a shame. I did end up buying one of them a Red Cross crank light. I’ve never used one of them, I didn’t want to send that, I really wanted to send this one but couldn’t find it.I hope this company gets its act together ! These are great lights, love ! Never have to worry about batteries. The crank arm is strong and the perfect length, it holds up. The bulbs last, the case is sturdy. Just because this is so good, I really want to keep extras. I live in an Sr Citizens apartment bldg in Florida, we’ve lost power during hurricanes etc. Just to keep an extra for a neighbor during emergencies etc.A really good product makes me want to buy more. Nobody wants to buy more of a junky product. When I first bought my first Garrity flashlight, it was a lot of money to me. I’ll tell you this has been one of the best purchases I’ve made. I looked for these lights ever since. Great product, great buy, well worth it.Btw, remember how American products used to be well designed with good quality? This flashlight is like that. I don’t know where it’s made, but it’s a real quality product. Buy it !

mines is light blue! drill baby drill.
awesome flashlight. it has 3 LEDs and you know what that means.LED lights are the new nowadays they have the ability to replace incandescent and CFL (compact fluorescent lighting). people are pushing for CFL but not alot of recycling centers accept them because they contain mercury and are toxic to the environment. Home depot is generous enough and they have set up a recycling program for CFLs. oops anyways this flashlight is awesome and very easy to useyou just crank it with your hand and it gets power. if you're scared it runs out then just crank it while its on although it will look funny. The flashlight also has a funny cranking sound like it's out of oil but nothing that will be too annoying. I used a freeplay Jonta flashlight and that one had a smoother cranking sound and also had a usb input so you can charge it (mini usb to big usb) but the price is much more than this.i recommend this if you want a decent flashlight that doesn't rely on batteries, as in continually buying and replacing them. when opened inside there is a small battery that is rechargable and when you crank the handle it charges the battery.what i did to my flashlight and the reason i bought it was to make it become a phone charger. i bought a car lighter charger for my nokia phone here on amazon. then i cut the end that is going into the car and it reveals 2 wires. i then soldered the wires to the sides of this flashlight and now i can charge my phone with this flashlight crank. i measured the voltage of the battery at 5.7 volts which is enough to power my cell phone. one downside is that my hand gets tired too fast and if you tried this, it would be great if you can make it charge your phone while you turn on the flashlight instead of doing the cranking but oh well. the reason why i bought this flashlight was for this experiment and it worked. for those who want to try this, what i did was i pulled the car charger through one of the 4 screw holes that way i didnt have to drill at the bottom.oh yeah one thing mentioning is that the color of the light is kinda blue so it's not pure white. doesn't affect my buying decision since i like this flashlight. hope this helps!

Good for casual uses...
Bad: The flashlight is not very bright unless you're cranking it while it's on. As soon as you stop cranking it, the light turns noticably dimmer. Cranking is a somewhat noisy process that sounds like a radio control car--so cranking is not good when silent operation is important. The rear of the handle should've been flat so that you can stand the flashlight upright pointing at the ceiling, but it's round so you can't do that.Good: The power charge lasts a very long time and is bright enough for very casual uses. Light is free from hotspots.

Use it for quick everyday tasks. Over and Over again.
I bought this 3 years ago the technology in LED lights has improved in quality and quantity. But for a pocket flashlight that never needs batteries it's pretty cool. I use it almost everyday and its works as good as day one. I would have preferred a rounder shape with more lights, since the design is flattish - the lights seem to line up in a row which give the light a wide disbursement but not a very tall or high up so you will have to end up moving it around in order to see in everything you need to in the dark. Works best for indoor tasks, behind equipment, dark sock drawers, closets, dark corners, when looking for something. If you forget it on, the lite goes out but the batteries are sealed and don't leak acid all over like conventional lights. It's durable and easy to crank for 20 seconds if you need a few minutes of illumination. Today I use LED lights in my shower-head that change color with the temperature of the water, on my bike spokes for crazy patterns at night and now in my HDTV. LED is here to stay.
