Great Kenmore washer
Great Kenmore washer! We have always had Kenmore washers and dryers which have lasted quite a few years. Doesn't do anything fancy like the new washers out there now - not a "smart" washer - just does what we need it to do - wash our clothes, etc. This model actually has a larger drum than our last one so it is great for washing comforters, blankets, large towels too. Got it for a great low price, fast shipping, and easy installation - no problems - love my Kenmore washer.

Kenmore 20362 Triple Action Agitator
This Kenmore washing machine was delivered yesterday within 2 days of having placed the order. It arrived with no damage and was placed where I wanted it to be placed. Be aware that the delivery people did not unbox it, my guess is that for whatever reason they are not allowed to. Nevertheless, I was able to unbox it and set it up by myself. After I set it up, I immediately washed 2 loads. One of the loads were some white shop towels that were badly stained and dirty. I selected the "Whtes" setting, put some bleach in the dispenser and ran the machine and to my pleasant surprise the towels came out incredibly clean and smelling fresh. The next load consisted of some heavy fabrics, sweat socks and sweatpants and so I used the "Heavy Duty" setting. That load came out very clean and fresh smelling as well. Take note that as this is machine is "HE" (high efficiency) regular laundry detergent cannot be used in this machine, the detergent that needs to be used should specifically be "HE" laundry detergent. There are several reasons for this...regular laundry detergent will create more suds and confuse the water sensor and the machine will not rinse the detergent properly, which over time could cause issues with the internal operating mechanisms and sensors of the machine. Additionally, because "HE" detergent is specifically formulated for high efficiency machines, you will actually use less detergent in your laundry. There are several features that make this machine a good choice. One specific feature is the "Auto" water level sensor. This feature detects the amount of clothing placed in the wash basket and will automatically fill the machine with the proper amount of water for the specific wash load. The other feature is the 12 wash settings that are designed to wash in accordance with the specific type of items being put in to wash. This machine also has a triple action agitator so it washes laundry items using a combination of spray jets, wash basket motion and an agitator. I have to say that the 3.8 cubic foot wash basket compartment is huge. There are some reviews that state that the machine is loud or noisy, this is nonsense. I could barely hear the machine when it was in sensor, wash, rinse, spin mode. Compared to my previous washer this machine is practically silent. There is one thing that could be improved upon...the hose that extracts the water from the machine to the slop sink feels and looks flimsy and is not as long as I would have preferred. Thankfully I have the hose from my previous machine and I was able to use that. In conclusion, so far so good and I recommend this washer to anyone looking for a quality machine that has really good useful features.

No damage during shipment works well so far
Pros:So far:1. Cleans well2. Very quiet operation3. Connections quick and simple4. Has deep fill setting. (finally something to counter this, "the sky is falling" BS.)Cons:1. Absolutely hate the lid lock2. Open the lid to see what it's doing. (it stops) It's that quiet.3. Drain hose is very thin cheap plastic. (Must watch this as it ages)4. Did not come with water hose connections. Minus 1 big fat star on that one.Controls are simple but, take a little time to get use to them.Has heavy load for those comforters you need to wash. This could be a Pro line above. However, a 3.8 Cu inch washer should handle even this bulky item. Deep fill selection here.Last washer died after 7-8 years. One before that 30 plus through twin boys.If they'd only make them like they use too!

Scary noises
Thankfully, before I hooked it up and ran it. I read the instructions and watched a YouTube video on the brand. Both made it clear that due to the architecture of the machine it would sound different than other washers. They were right! Had I not done complete research before firing it up, I would have panicked because some of the sounds were horrendous , reminiscent of a transmission grinding to a halt, or the sound of sawing wood with a hand saw! I only noticed it during the beginning of the maiden run because it was peculiar. I found that due to the design, the agitator makes slow, small incremental moves both ways as it adds water at different times during a cycle depending upon what it senses, as far as water level and balance. After the initial shock ,now that we know what to expect , its hardly noticeable. The full operating sound level is very low. We are in love with it. I was concerned because it was six inches taller than our old 1990s washer and I was concerned about my wife having difficulty reaching over the edge and into the bottom of the basket. She reports no problem and the lid clears the shelf above the washer. Happily she reports almost no difference but was very happy because she reports that for our two person household she usually did 6-8 loads of laundry a week r but today the same amount only too three loads. we initially did a load of bath towels about twelve plus hand towels and there was no problem. It starts rather slow and the green sensing light stays on until it decides there is no imbalance. Initially it seemed like a long time because you don't hear water gushing in right away. YouTube has a video about calibrating these models by turning the dial a few clicks. The instructions do not mention this but it appears to have no relevance so far. She loves the fabric softener dispenser that is in the top of the agitator and a small bleach dispenser in the front left corner. It certainly does a good job of spinning out water. Things dry much quicker in our old 1990s electric dryer. It was packed very well almost too well. It would help to have two people to unpack it as the instructions show it set on its side to remove the cardboard pedestal. I didn't do that and it was a bit of a struggle to get it out but did.
