Powerhorse Portable Generator - 9000 Surge Watts, 7250 Rated Watts, Electric Start

***FOLLOW UP***I have had this generator for about a year now never really needing to use it for more than an hr or so on 2 different occasions. Last week we lost power for 36 hrs and much to my disappointment this generator didnt live up to its billing. Its THD isnt less than 5%. My APC backups werent completely charging. They were switching from charge/battery multiple times till the battery was completely discharged. The backups need a clean sine wave to charge and this generator doesnt have one. The generator did run fine and handled my well pump refrigerator and boiler along with some lights with no problem. Its just if you are looking for a pure sine wave or a THD of less than 5% for your sensitive electronics, this generator doesnt cut it. I am changing my rating from 5 star to 2 because of it.Original ReviewIve been looking for a generator to do most of my small house but need the clean sine wave to power my battery back ups for my computer and TV. The APC battery back ups that I have wont charge without a clean sine wave. I have had other generators but they didnt charge the battery back ups. I used a separate inverter generator to power the back ups but it was such a pain to run separate extension cords all over the house. I saw this generator online but it didnt have any reviews to it so I wasnt sure. It was priced a bit more than generators of the same size. I called Powerhorse directly and spoke to one of their reps. He stated "Yes the THD is less than 5% and should charge those battery back ups." I was a bit skeptical but figured if it didnt work id return it since it cant do what it stated. The box came and directly on the box it states 5% THD. I was a bit surprised and now hopeful. The setup was simple. Install wheels, handle and feet. Took about 15 minutes or so. It didnt come with a battery. The manual didnt even state what battery type to use. It just gave the battery dimensions. Im going to pick up a battery for it. It comes dry, no oil. I only use full synthetic for all my small engines so I had a quart on hand. The generator started on the second pull. I hooked it up to the house and to my pleasant surprised it worked!!! The battery back ups were charging and working fine. Of course this was the first and only time I tried it. I will try it again and see what happens. Of course I dont know how reliable the unit is. I will update the review as time goes and post any other updates.

had this for over 10 years, ive used it to power my entire house without central air on, and with central air on I can power 2 full size refrigerators with freezers and lights and outlets and well pump with water heater.. if this was alittle more powerful I could run everything I believe. Its also good on gas..

Ive had this for about 10 years. The first time I had to use if for an emergency power loss of 24 straight hours. It worked flawlessly.
