Great backer for Ultimate Mirror Chrome
My fiance and I bought this and the Ultimate Mirror Chrome to paint Daft Punk helmets for Halloween. We bought an inexpensive paint gun to paint the helmets rather than using an airbrush, because using an airbrush on such a large object would have been a bit meticulous. The paint worked great in the gun and we used about three bottles to fully cover the helmets. The backer gave the chrome a deep look and I doubt it would have worked without it. We had no problem getting the paint to stick to the plastic helmets after we sanded them down and put a clear coat on them even though the paint is meant for RC cars.

Perfect
This is my 3rd bottle of the gloss black & the chrome. Perfect coverage even for a newbie with a cheap $20 airbrush set up. I mostly paint models made of plastic and adheres well with proper prep work. Will be buying more once I’m out.

Great Color
Great color. Had trouble with it laying smooth until I took it from the hot garage and cooled it in the fridge for about ten minutes.

Works great as backer for chrome
Works great as backer for chrome. Sprays nice out of my Iwata HP-M2. Don't use as a replacement for black paint, it's easily scratched off bare lexan for some reason.

Good once you thin it
Since Rustoleum is discontinuing Testors and Model Master, I need a new gloss black and found this. Tried it and at first I was very disappointed, but I decided to thin it a bit and that seems to have fixed it.Using regular Testors enamel thinner, and mixing it at a ~3:1 to 4:1 paint/thinner ratio has made a world of difference. Now sprays a good, smooth coat and dries slow enough that it comes out almost mirror-reflective. The only downside, Ultimate Chrome isn't *quite* as reflective as I'd like, but I'm not about to rule out it just being user error on my part. For what it is, depending on how their High Gloss Black turns out, this might be my new go-to for gloss black.
