If They Only Knew

Stained
The book was a decent price and came in on time. For the most part the book looks good, but you can tell that there was either a coffee or soda spilled near the book because of the brown stains to the side of the pages and a few spots on the cover. There's also a small tear in the cover. Definitely not a new book. Will make sure not to buy anything that isn't new from now on.

Like the proper length of a woman's skirt....
As for the book: a bit lightweight (big print, lots of white space, lots of photos), yes. Bubble-gummy, some. But Ms. Laurer does reveal some deeply personal things about herself. The chronological skips are a bit off-putting, but not so much as in Goldberg's recent bio. There is considerably less "filler" (if you regard it as such) of play-by-play wrestling matches than appeared in The Rock's book. Agreed, it is no "Have a Nice Day!", but then, I think we are all beginning to appreciate how rare a book Foley's work truly was. This book is nearly like the old saying about the proer length of a woman's skirt -- short enough to arouse interest, but long enough to leave you wanting more. This is a fine, if brief, first go of an autobiography. It does leave plenty of room for a sequel in five or more years, and no doubt that sequel could include more childhood memories, more detail. Still, in this age of 24-hour pop star "unauthorized" biographies, this book deserves more credit than it is receiving here on Amazon, in my opinion. And Ms. Laurer deserves credit for sharing some truly tough issues with us. The book is entertaining, with a surprising amount of witty wordplay, even if the tone is extremely casual. As for some of the other reviews of this book: Amazon should not accept one line reviews, for starters! Such reviews indicate a lack of thought. They can't even completely describe a person's concerns with a work. This book deserves more than two stars, period. I don't think reviewers who rate it lower are being completely honest, or else their enormous prejudice is showing. Can you say "jealousy"?

Good quality
I bought this product used. However the glue that holds the page together in the middle has come undone. All in all the product is in good condition

Chyna. The "Ninth Wonder of the World", A highly intelligent women who lead the way for female wrestling. This book gives you an inside glimpse of her personal and professional struggles as she rose to the top in the male dominate world of wrestling leaving an ever lasting legendary legacy in the world of wrestling and fitness.

It's very well written and also very sad. She had gotten used and taken advantage of for so long. Hopefully she's at peace now.

The First Woman 'Mamachita'
An honest account into Chyna's beginnings or as 'Joanie Lauren's. Working her way through her life, the ups and the downs heading straight into the WWF arena along side the best in the business of wrestling. It has a look from a woman's perspective and from that gain a little more about the '9th Wonder of the World. Sadly she passed 2016 not really knowing how well she was thought of. R.I.P.

All filler no killer
Books ends in 2000 before the big break up, and doesn't really cover her career all that much.

Great condition for its age, with full colour pictures. These older wwf biographies are far superior to the newer WWE ones...I'd recommend any of the attitude era books.
