These actually work. I think the steep cutting angle has something to do with they're performance. Also, the are 1/2" so there is much less flex than the 1/4" I was using before. Highly recommend for the hobby/garage/mini-lathe work.

Well made, insert seat pocket, always a concern, are correctly machined to pull the insert into the seat.Each tool is supplied in a square plastic tube.Would be good if spare insert screws were supplied.Good value.

I hope these continue to work well- they arrived quickly and are rigid and sharp. Inserts fit well. They were oiled and free from any corrosion. Cuts seem pretty good- I feel like the edge could be a bit sharper, but as I have a choice of inserts I will try some other varieties and maybe update this review. Still overall pretty impressed for the price.

First, I like the way this performs. It's breaking chips on metals that CNMG, and WNMG were having problems on. They were just long curlies, while this is actual chips.The 4 came, the boring bar surprised me with a negative rake. The others have a neutral rake.2 of the 4 the carbide was not sitting flat. I contacted the seller, and they said they would send me 2 new if I provided the address. But I decided to try fixing the holders. The screw was not aligning with the carbide. I filed the pocket back and it now sits flat. Problem solved. Vendor was good about replacing I think. But all is good now. about 20-40 minutes work.

They cut and work well the bit were smaller than I expected

Combined with an AXA QC tool post, this set has been a godsend. It's a significant improvement over 1/4" HSS bits held in a lantern-style tool post. The inserts should be snugged up before use, but the inserts themselves are good to go. The boring bar has flats for use in a typical holder, so a holder specific to boring bars isn't needed.
