Yes, you should be fine. They required me to prove authenticity to sell mine. Amazon has a direct account with Spyderco so it can't be fake if you buy from them.

Mine was a "legit" spyderco knife. There are some good videos on youtube to help you spot the fakes. Good luck.

Q: Does this knife have assisted opening?

No. BUT............ this is my favorite "manual" EDC knife. My favorite "assisted" EDC knife would be the Benchmade Volli. I have 9 EDC knives, these 2 are easily the pick of the crop.

Q: I want one of these but im not sure its something i need. i have a kershaw Kryo II and love it. is it that noticeable with how much better it is?

It’s a need if your looking to get into more premium materials, craftsmanship and aftermarket support. This knife was my gateway knife years and years ago. It is a night and day difference. Tight tolerances with Spyderco where Kershaw doesn’t have to focus as much on that with speed safe. The steel is where I noticed the biggest difference. I noticed that my edge was holding up significantly longer.
