Q: Can you remove the thumb studs on the knife?

Hello Customer, The thumb stub of our SENCUT SACHSE is a screw locking structure and can be disassembled. We suggest that you wrap the pliers with a cloth when disassembling, and then twist the thumb stub to avoid scratching the blade. Q: Does the black stonewash scratch easily?

Depends on what your using it for. Like most black coatings it shows marring easier than a stone wash finish and it will eventually get scratched...but to me it's worth it. It is a classic looking knife and I like the low profile look of black finished blades.
