Q: 6 inches seems too short to get the plug out from behind a dresser, sofa or most anything. Am I misunderstanding?

I bought it for a couple of spots where a piece of furniture, to be where I want it, just covers an outlet by a few inches. The flat prong end allows the furniture to cover the outlet, but the short end sticks out and allows me to plug in anything I like. It's great behind a printer, a bed frame, etc. I hope that helps!

Q: Is this one or 3 in number?

The entire cable length is 4 feet long. There is one (1) cable in the package. The cord rotates 360 degrees around the plug. Quality is very nice. There are three outlets on the block end: 1 on one side, 2 on the other.
