Comica V30 Lite microphone
I mainly purchase this Comica microphone to use with my canon camera but I decided to tested it out on my iPhone 14 with a adapter and the quality of the sound was fantastic. Good price, works great. I wish it has an adapter already but maybe is asking too much!? Satisfied with this product!

Good, but maybe not on all cameras..?
The media could not be loaded. Overall the mic seems to work good. So far I have tested it on a Hc-V7700, a Vixia Hf R500 and a Samsung Galaxy S9 plus. I can say when It worked it was better than the built in mics on these devices. Talking sounded Bassier and more true to life, and the mic didn't seem overly sensitive to direction. Meaning if it was a couple of degrees high or low to the subject I didn't notice huge sound quality reduction. Notice less camera hum and background noise while using it.The problem I ran into is on one of my cameras (Hf R500) the mic didn't work at all whether set to Camera Mode or Phone mode. I don't think this is the Mics fault though, I think it's possible that that camera doesn't have a pre amp in it for the mic and thereby needs one that is powered. That actually does bring me to one of the big advantages this mic has... Running without batteries... I bought a good external mic awhile ago for my YouTube channel but after a few tries I gave up using it. The problem I kept running into was either forgetting to switch the mic on, or the batteries dying...This killed me as I lost hours of footage by doing this... The fact that this mic requires no batteries and just is plug and play is great. I see myself much more likely to use this mic as I don't need to worry about that with it.Otherwise the mic seems okay build quality wise, I wouldn't call it rugged by any means but by itself I could see it handling a few drops but that is mainly because of how light it is. Otherwise if you drop it while attached to a heavy camera which lands a top it, I think chances of something getting snapped is probably pretty high. The fact that this camera includes no amp built in though and the rather simple light design I would hope to see it priced more around $25-30 instead of $40 but that may just be me. One thing to consider is this does sound better than some $80 externals I've played with so I guess it comes down to the price being overall okay but not anything better. One last thing, the first one I got was defective and the company replaced it without issue.

inefficient
This mic is pretty much useless. I used it to record bird videos and it captures all the noise around. Save your monay and buy something better. I returned it!

Surprisingly good directionality
The Comica CVM-V30 is exactly what I was looking for - a no-frills, convenient, affordable way to improve audio quality and pick up less of the sounds that you don't want. One of the reasons I chose this one was that it doesn't require any batteries, recharging, or extra wires - just one wire right to the camera, simple as can be. I certainly don't want to review footage only to find that half the audio was lost due to a dead battery!I'm using this on a Sony ZV-1 which works quite well, though it does look Comically (sorry) large. The audio is richer and bassier than the built-in mic. The wind protection seems pretty decent, and could be further improved by putting a deadcat wind cover over top if you plan on a lot of outdoor filming.Possibly the most significant change is that the super-cardioid pattern means the subject sounds clear while voices behind the camera are 2-3 times quieter and more muffled. This is generally great, though if you're narrating anything from behind the camera you'll want a lav mic (which is already a good idea).Overall this is an easy to use way to improve camera audio by a good bit on almost any budget!
