Twenty-five years ago Baffin Footwear began manufacturing insulated and non-insulated footwear products. While traditional molded boots are suitable for some conditions, they are not ideal for cold temperatures. Baffin combines leading molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, which creates a hybrid style of high-performance footwear. This equates to more warmth, better fit, and superior comfort. Baffin boots are different than most shoes and work boots because the sole and midsole are molded to the base in one continuous process. The sole itself is a marvel of modern engineering because it is made up of several advanced thermo-set polymers that are combined together to achieve the right balance of warmth, protection, low weight and grip. Baffin is dedicated to offering boots with functionality and fashion, while still maintaining their legendary performance.

and spent a great deal of time both moving around
After quite a bit of research and patience, I ordered these boots for our frigid Minnesota winters; specifically for ice fishing. I was finally able to wear them out for the first time during our first polar vortex of the season a few weeks ago, when actual air temperatures were -29 degrees, with a -48 degree windchill. I was fishing a tournament on the lake the entire day, outside on the ice for 9 hours. Not once did my feet ever feel cold. I wore a pair of wool socks (wool is crucial since cotton will make your feet sweat), and spent a great deal of time both moving around, and sitting stationary. I couldn't be more pleased with them. So far, I've spent a few hundred hours in them and am still incredibly happy with the purchase. Yes, they are a bit bulky but for what you get in comfort and warmth, they're well worth the minimal extra size and weight. I did order a size and a half larger (per the suggestions) and I'm glad I did. They fit perfectly.

Great boots!
I bought a men's boot because the women's were too small around the toes. I also decided to go with Velcro straps instead of lace ups like the Shackleton. I also compared the Eiger to the Selkirk which is not quite as warm as the Eiger. The best all around fit was the Eiger. The heel was just right, unlike the Selkirk which was a little sloppy. There was more distance between my foot and the ground in the Eiger than the Selkirk, and I liked the extended gator on both. The Selkirk is listed as waterproof because of the front seam that is sealed. The front seam is not sealed on the Eiger which I would have preferred, but if necessary, I can use seam sealer on it. I use a middle weight trekker sock which works fantastically in the boot. My toes are really toasty. I doubt that I will be in -138 degree weather, but I went with the Aiger because my feet get cold easily and I will be using them mostly for winter photography where I am standing still a lot. If I were doing some serious hiking in them, which I doubt, my feet might get overheated. I usually buy a women's 8.5 in boots with a medium weight sock with plenty of toe room. I fit the men's 8 in the Eiger. I wouldn't want it any smaller. They are also exceptionally well made, very comfy, and easy to walk in.

I purchased these ginormous boots for my son for our week-long trip to Fairbanks, Alaska with -26F degree weather. My son, being 13, was rolling, jumping, and playing around in snow with these babies. He told me they are warm and kept his feet dry, if worn properly of course. Once he did not put his ski pants liner down into the boots and did not tighten the boots on top, henceforth, ice did get into the boots with him sticking them in 3 feet of snow. However, once he fixed that, the boots kept him dry and warm. If you can get over how humongous these boots are, they will definitely do its job of keeping your feet warm and dry. One con is that they are cumbersome to travel with and I had to check in a luggage with them along with my huge winter jackets.

Best boot I've worn in my life
Boot runs a size small so buy the next size up. If you want the experience of lets say... ice fishing from your living room on your couch with your feet wrapped in a cozy blanket while the fireplace in the room warms your feet, then buy these boots. Paired with wool socks these boots will leave you feeling happy with your purchase. Ice fished all day, ran around to tip ups, stood on solid ice in about an inch of standing water and rode snowmobile from spot to spot and my feet were very happy.

Baffin saved me with these
Best boots ive ever owned. I work on a farm, outdoors in snow, and on a cold cement slab throughout winter in Maine. These comfortably hold up to all the conditions. The sole is thick, and the liner forms around the toes without being constricting. They are a little clunky, but the extra insulation is worth it. The velcro straps are working perfectly, but the last boots i had, different brand, died at the straps first. Last winter I struggled most days to stay warm, but these have vastly improved my quality of life!

Very Serious Cold Weather Boot
Great boot. After ordering I called and talked to seller and she suggested I move up one size and she was spot on. These are very serious cold weather boots they fit great and keep my feet quite warm. I enjoyed them so much we bought my wife a pair of Baffin boots from the same seller (not the Eiger)

excellent cold-weather boots - just go up one size for best fit
I followed the advice of other reviewers and went up one more size than what I'd normally buy, and so the fit was perfect. The insulation and comfort with these boots was great - while I did not have time for recreational snowshoeing during this past colder-than-usual winter, I was able to get around comfortably to catch up with some property maintenance.

Love them!
love these boots! We’ve had several pairs (boots are still good, my son’s feet have just grown). Live in Minnesota and my son never complains of cold feet, even standing on the concrete in sub zero temps when he rings the bell for santa around Christmas time.

100 degree below zero and like walking on a cloud.
I take 11 ordered 12 fits great. The only gripe so far in walking around the house is the lower buckle digs into ankle if snug tight. To be fair though i have super ridiculous thick ankles and calves. Probably not an issue if not like me. I bought the pull on instead of lace because it is usually better with thick calves. Quality is superb. So far.

Great boot
This is a great boot. I use it for everything but bought it for snowmobiling. At -30 celcius on the snowmobile the boot works amazing. It fits my large calf well and am happy it came in size 15. Really soft and comfy. I would definitely recommend.

Good but enormous.
If you are standing outside for periods of time in the cold, these are perfect. Walking is very difficult and driving with them on next to impossible. Made in China but a good quality boot to be sure.

BE CAREFUL ABOUT THE FIT
They have an aggressive insole that will constrict your foot, I would advise buying a size bigger than normal or else the vasoconstriction will cause your feet to be cold regardless of the -100 rating. As for the build quality and value I am amazed they are so cheap.

Worth the money
I have a heart problem so my circulation is limited. I always get cold feet, even with heat packs. I purchased these boots before hunting and found out quickly that with a heat pack inside I was too warm. 10 hours sitting still at -9 Celsius and no issues. A little loose in the heel but I didn’t tighten the straps at all as they fit snug and the convenience of not doing laces was great. Highly recommend these boots.
