Plastic Free Kettle!
I bought this kettle as an emergency replacement for an old Russel Hobbs kettle that finally stopped working. One big concern I've had with buying a new kettle is plastic making contact with the boiling water. In fact, I've been looking at some plastic-free kettles that cost over £100. But I don't really want to spend that much on a kettle at the moment. But I'm delighted that after a bit of modification, I was able to remove all the large plastic components from the inside of this kettle. The limescale filter holder came off quite quickly. I don't need it since I only boil filtered water, so I never get any limescale build-up.The cup measuring fins took a lot more work to remove. The correct technique is to drive a wedge between the red plastic wrapping around the metal rod, and gently tap until the plastic piece comes off.I tried using my hand to pull the cup measuring piece off, and I found that it simply did not want to let go. But eventually it did come off using the wedge technique. There is a small ring at the bottom of the metal rod that feels soft and squishy, making me think it's made out of silicone. I could probably remove that too, but I left it on.And unlike my old kettle, this one does not have a "water level" window. That might be an issue for some, but for me it's exactly what I wanted. No plastic exposure through that.Otherwise, a nice kettle. Boils quickly, looks sleek, and quieter than my old Russel Hobbs. And this modification did no harm to the kettle at all.If plastic is not a concern for you, then I can highly recommend it as-is. If you want a plastic free kettle on a budget, then you have the option to remove all the plastic that makes contact with the water.

It do be a kettle
Sounds like a normal kettle boiling when it's empty but it's fine. Fast boil, pretty good kettle honestly.

Last's Well, still going
This is a very good kettle, and has given me no problems. I find it quiet, and very quick. I've had plenty of kettle's that say they are 'quick boil' then take so long, that you lose the will to live while waiting.I am also a type 1 diabetic (diabetes meletus) who uses sweet coffee, to raise my blood sugar when needed. So do appreciate a kettle that boils quickly.I know I could have a cold sugary drink, sometimes I do do that, but rarely, as if my blood sugar is low, hand me a cold sugary drink, and I just sit there looking at it. Hypoglycaemia can do that, where as a hot drink, I will drink quickly (cast iron throat)This kettle is light, I also have weak wrists, and fingers that don't work well. So I don't fill this kettle full, as then I couldn't lift it, but a third full is fine for me.So anyone else, who is elderly, or not as strong as they were, may find this kettle perfectly suitable for themselves. It stays bright and shiny easily, the cord storage works, for the length you want, so many don't. It wasn't the most expensive kettle, but definitely worth every penny and more.

The Lid Is Very Annoying - I am replacing it for this reason.
This kettle works fine - yes its a bit noisy - but it gets the job done. The reason why I am REPLACING it is because the lid is so annoying - it twists completely off ONLY when in the proper position. So once you place the lid on and twist it slightly (and the grooves then lock the lid in) you have to fumble with the lid and twist it to put more water in. If it is a cold morning and you are in your 50s (like me) this can be more hassle then it is worth. Why? because once you find the locking and unlocking point and pull up (which can also be very hard to do) you can easily lose the lid in the air from all the 'trying to get it right' momentum. Then when the lid and unit is HOT - it becomes a different sensory experience to try and get that lid off (you need a towel to safely remove the lid and refill at this point). So if all this lid stuff sounds fun to you - then this is your kettle. Otherwise skip it and find one that has the lid attached that can easily pop it up and you and move on with your life! As I am doing...

Very loud boil, but otherwise, as advertised.
Bought to replace the similar RH kettle, with button operated flip lid. The old kettle still works but lid has failed and couldn't even be opened by hand, so can only be filled through spout. This new kettle lacks two other features that the flip-lid version has: the water level window and the power on indicator light. But neither of those features are claimed so this kettle fulfills expectations.EDIT: After a week or so of use I have discovered one very annoying thing about this kettle. The lid design has a very impractical grip. It is so smooth and slippery that unless your hand is bone dry you can't get enough grip to overcome the strong clips that latch the lid in place. While I didn't feel the very loud boil (it is a lot louder than my previous RH kettle) was serious enough to remove a star, the combination of the over-loud boil and impractical lid grip have led me to delete one star from my rating.

No water measure or on light
No water measurer or light ordered to replace a 10 year kettle that broke so thought I was ordering identical replacement. Kept as last kettle broke but if I had more time would have sent back and reordered. Good kettle quick boil but if measurere for filler and red on light important look for another kettle
