Inconsistent adhesion and color on stainless steel
Tried this spray on some keychains that the supplier claims are stainless steel (it's non-magnetic, so not sure). As you can see from the photos, it didn't turn out uniformly well. These were wiped with 90% isopropyl alcohol, but there were still problems with adhesion in a few places. The laser is operating at about 130W at about 400mm/sec, well over the minimum 25W recommended in the instructions. I closed down the spacing of the raster lines between the star image and the letters to try to clear up the light lines, which seemed to help. There are still artifacts in the strokes of the letters though: notice the light lines paralleling the edges on the U and L. I have not tried competing products on this laser to see if they are better or worse, but not very impressed with this spray so far.
