Pygmalion [DVD]

Print quality OK, but otherwise the production is excellent - especially the two leads!
A television presentation and it shows clearly in the quality of the print, and the colour: both of which leave something to be desired. By contrast, the performances are wonderful. Robert Powell makes for a fabulous Professor Henry Higgins, and Twiggy is a surprisingly delightful Eliza Doolittle: both before and after her "transformation" into a lady by Powell. The rest of the cast are all very able, but it is really Powell and Twiggy's show. Worthy to stand beside the original film with Leslie Howard and Wendy Hiller, and the slightly overblown but magnificent "My Fair Lady" with Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison.

Refreshing
EnjOyed watching this. Refreshing Acting from Robert Powell as a younger Professor Higgins.

Good period adaption
A good adaption. The only thing I found annoying was it did not finish with a clear cut ending - but that is the fault of the author, not the adaption.

Twiggy Talks Posh!
It's not Leslie Howard and Wendy Hiller, but Twiggy's vocal transformation is a wonder in its own right.
