One of the best rock live albums you'll find
I had this double CD as a double album back around 1977/78 and loved it. Over time my vinyl collection dwindled while trading in my records for CDs (I know, a bad move). A long time went by before I really went looking for this live recording on CD. I'd managed to get three Golden Earring studio CDs that were part of that collection but somehow overlooked this live one. Since finding Amazon to be a great source for hard-to-find CD's, I went to the well for this one and found it. Listening to it again after all these years, it was a real treat and will be for many listenings to come. It's a great live recording - tight yet spacious sounding at the same time if you can imagine that. And the songs are true to the originals but changed up enough to give it that real live experience. It's not studio recordings with an audience track added on. The song selection is wonderful. There's only one song that I felt didn't need to be on this live set - "Con Man". But that's just personal taste. I feel they are as good a live act as the Who were in their early 70's prime. If you're a Golden Earring fan, then I'm preaching to the choir. But if you're new to their music and want to hear them live (don't think they've played in the US for quite some time), there's this gem to pick up. It won't disappoint.

Live Ear-Ringing
Saw this tour when they were in the U.S. and it rocked my ass off! When the album came out several months later I bought it and it rang my ears like no other live album. Golden Earring is one of the best live bands EVER and this CD proves it. To make a statement here, I saw them as the opening act for Ted Nugent in Kalamazoo, Michigan (Ted's home land) and while the "Nuge" rocked the show, Golden Earring BLEW him off the damn stage in my opinion. Granted I've always liked Golden Earring, but not as much as I did after seeing them live. These guys had stage presence, musicianship and they knew how to handle a hostile crowd and charm it into submission. This should have been a larger selling album in the United States. Just listen to "Candy's Going Bad" and you'll know this is a serious rocker. Golden Earring also does a killer job of the old Byrds song "Eight Miles High" as well, then the classic "Radar Love" is live and unleashed ...pure greatness! "Vanilla Queen" and "Just Like Vince Taylor" also rock the place, make this CD a part of your collection, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic Live 1977
Amazed how good this . Rocks hard, great guitars, and great voice. Should have been bigger in the USA.

Best live rock and roll that I've ever experienced for an initial listening
Great instrumentation, outstanding playlist. I wasn't altogether familiar with Golden Earring songs other than the popular standard "Radar Love" but found that I thoroughly enjoyed every song the first time hearing the live CD set. It was straight rock and roll from a very talented group, found it to be very refreshing and good head clearing tunes.

I like.
Had some problems with the colored vinyl. This is thick, quality and super clean.

Great stuff
I have always loved Golden Earring, especially from this era. Great live recording. Musicianship is tight. Sit back and enjoy.

Poorly recorded?
Could have been recorded on a home cassette recorder and mastered by a deaf roadie. I wonder if this is a bad pressing but not going to chance a replacement. Sounds very much like a Spinal Tap pub tribute.

Not a bad live album
Nice selection of tracks sadly sound quality not brilliant.

A Treasure Trove of Brilliance
Probably one the best and most unrecognised live rock albums there is, equal to Deep Purple's Made in Japan and Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains the Same. I heard this live album long before any studio albums (other than the track Radar Love of course). No rock album collection is complete without this sublime and perfectly crafted release

as good as it gets
i bought this new on the original release and played it to death as a teenager. having rediscovered it 20 years later with the update of my collection i understand why i played it so much. it has not dated and features a cracking version of Eight miles high and a brilliant version of the Vanilla Queen. Buy this just for the pleasure of superb musicianship and you will also own one of the top ten classic albums of all time.

A great live album from a band who should have been ...
Lived up to my expectations. A great live album from a band who should have been bigger than they actually achieved. It peaks with soaring versions of Radar Love and GE's cover of the Byrds classic, Eight Miles High. They definitely put put their own stamp on this song.
