The Monstrum Tactical S120P is an ultra compact prism scope with 1x magnification and a 20mm objective lens, ideal for close quarter tactical situations and rapid short range target acquisition out to 100+ yards. The scope uses a glass prism optical system rather than a refracting lens system like traditional scopes, allowing for better optical quality in a much smaller package. With crystal clear optics, an adjustable focus lens, and a comfortable eye relief of 3+ inches, it is comparable to sights several times the price. The glass reticle can be illuminated in multiple brightness levels for a clean sight picture regardless of lighting or environment. And, unlike red dot sights, the reticle is visible with or without illumination, usable with or without battery power. The S120P is 10 ounces in weight, 4.3 inches in length, 2.2 inches in height, and 2 inches in width, compact making for a lightweight low profile addition to your tactical rifle or shotgun. The illuminated reticle runs off one 3V CR2032 battery, included with purchase. The S120P is available in either black or flat dark earth.

Impressive Sight Picture for $90!
I just got this scope, and mounted it on my crossbow. Initial impression: Impressive! This would be very comparable to the Leupold Prismatic, but that being a $500 optic, this scope is very attractive. What I like:- Packaging is good quality (comes in a nice box)- Solid build quality- Amazingly clear optic- Great light gathering in low light- Crisp, functional reticle- Illumination looks fantastic; 1 is great for low light and 11 is enough for a bright summer dayWhat I don't like:- I wish it had a squared crossbolt that would fit into a mounting rail's grooves more solidly- The adjustment knobs have no lines and not the most positive click adjustments. This is the only place where I feel this optic is "cheap".I will update more as I start shooting my crossbow with it on. I am hoping it will stand up to the challenge before hunting season. Otherwise, its going on my 10/22.7/22/15 - I have to knock off one star. Reason: No markings for direction (U or R) on the knobs! I figured it out (clockwise clicks for Up and Right), but something written on it would have helped... Unless I got one that happened to pass QC without markings...

Man,..I really wanted to like this little prism red dot, but,....
I mounted this on an AR-15 with BUIS sights that were sighted in. I really wanted to like this scope because I like prism red dots and I liked the reticle very much. But upon mounting it, it was aimed about 1/2" left of my front sight and the scope is not optically in line with the rifle. There was only enough windage to move the reticle to the right about 1/4", which is plenty of adjustment if the scope had lined up in the first place. This is 1/2" at my front sight, that would be many yards off at 100 yards. Weird trying to look through it and the whole scope is looking to the left. I run the Troy Micro backups, they are a little lower than regular BUIS, but perfect for me as I get a great cheek weld. This scope would have co-witnessed perfectly if it had lined up. The elevation and windage adjustments had good clicks, tactilely and a little sound, felt good to me. I`m a 35 yr Machinist and 55 yr shooter, I`ve mounted dozens of scopes and red dots, this is only the second one that I had to send back. If you follow the instructions on adjusting the ocular lens, it is 1X and the reticle is very clear. Sadly, I am returning this item, I really liked the size and the reticle, and the mounting. I suppose I just got a bad one. I`m going to order another one with my fingers crossed.

I have 3 Leupold Prismatics and love them.
I have 3 Leupold Prismatics and love them......not really too fond of the reticles that Burris or Vortex has to offer in theirs. Figured I'd try this thing out.....and was NOT expecting too much for the price. I was very pleased with what I ended up with. I do like a cross hair (this has) and I do like the brackets as well. The ONLY DRAW BACK is that it is TOO DANG LOW for mounting on an AR15 flat top. You will need a riser. I did luck out in that the Leupold prismatics came with extra blocks and they were a perfect fit to elevate this scope. You can buy a 1/2 rail riser too, and they would work fine. The optics are clear too!! It's holding up so far....I'll be getting another.

Never had a redot like this.
Never had a redot like this.. specially one that has it's "dot" etched in so you don't even have to turn it in to see it... I've tried it on a few different guns and can tell you it will need at least a half inch riser for it to sit nicely on an ar15... AK style guns won't need a riser. As stated you'll want the dot 3+ inches away so you can see it. Beyond that I like it... Monstrum has always came up with new ideas for optics and the 3x9 I bought years ago has worked well... I expect this one to as well!

Low cost solution for crappy eyes and red dots?
Purchased this thing to primarily mount to a Beretta CX4 9mm carbine. My eyes are not longer picking up red dots properly but have zero issues with irons or traditional scopes. Since usually these sort of prism scopes and sights also have an adjustment setting to match where your eyes are at all the better. I do not have horrid vision, but I sort of do need glasses or laser surgery I guess. And that was the rational for giving this thing a go to replace the TRS25 on the storm pistol caliber carbine. As my eye would not have an issue with etched glass, it does not need to be turned on to use and I could adjust the thing to my eye without needing glasses. Perfect I thought for the official bump in the night carbine/most used (and liked) goof off gun.Well it does do all I thought it would. Can adjust to my vision just fine -glasses. It has a pretty generous for what it is happy spot where you can mount and use without fish eye. Reticule is a bit more beefy than I would like but that is nit picking. Its fine for this purpose and easily picked up. Light setting seem good for outdoor use, something these sorts of things sometimes have issues with. I have no idea about a really bright sunny day but the average sort of light conditions outdoors where I live its totally working and if not you still get black so I find that a none issue all around. For the CX4 Storm the height of mount is pretty damned perfect. Really surprised there. Looks a little goofy on the storm, but totally functional and seems to be fine. Of course, had to start sticking it on other things too. On my AR included mount is way to low. That is covered in other reviews. Don't care as I probably would never stick it on that. Prefer 1-4 or 1-6 optics on that thing. Stuck in on my .223 saiga with a molot Vepr low side mount. Actually looks pretty good on that. This converted saiga has a cheek piece on the stock which works perfect with your usual scope types. Its a tad high (but workable) with built in base. Had a set of Werne qd rings laying around. Played around and go...oh my its a 30mm tube and the built in optic base can be removed. So other more funky mounting options are possible with this thing beyond what you get in the box. If a 1 piece ring for a red dot can fit between the adjustment bit and where all the turrets fit that is a real possibility to fine tune perfect mounting solution. This 30mm werne ring just fits in that space BTW. And enough for a funky mounting solution on the front of tube too. And ya, I am thinking about doing just this for the saiga with the molot mount. These are low rings and make it perfect there. Not decided yet as I bought this for the storm. So there are funky options for mounting. A good thing.Glass is good enough and certainly good enough for the price of this thing. But I suspect and proper repeatable cheek weld will be critical to maintain groups and point of aim. I would have easily 5 stared this thing for what it is and price point except for one minor issue. Its not the ultimate 1x prism sight. Of course it is not for this price. But it is vary vary good for what it costs you. Now the issue I had with mounting. I mounted the thing on the storm and something was not aligned right. Since this is a prism optic it distorts junk right in front of it. My front sight post was off to the right. It should not have been. Then stuck it on the saiga and its front post was also to the right again. Went WTF. Stuck in back on the storm and its magically aligned as it should be with front sight post. Light bulb went on and took a look at the base. Flash and material from treads where not allowing the sight base to perfectly align square with the rail. The on and off again mounting crushed that junk which is why it suddenly was square like it was suppose to be. Super minor issue that self corrected but something that if you buy one of these things should probably take a look at before you start mounting it on stuff. Easy to take care of yourself or it does it itself as in my case =). It could have just been mine. And I am keeping it. Does everything I need it to do so far. Time will tell how it holds up but it seems pretty dang solid. I suspect with average use it will last for sometime. I may vary well buy another one.... But my testing the waters with a basic 1x prism sight bore fruit for me it seems with my particular needs.
