I never kept track. The 312XL cartridge does give you about 30 to 40 % more prints.

What is the difference in the high capacity and standard capacity ink cartridges? Other than they obviously have more ink? How much more ?

High capacity cartridges are typically twice as thick. Reasonable guess is twice as much, but I have not measured it. They are typically a better value.
